One of my favorite tropes that I'm not really sure is a trope(?) but I consider it so anyway, is when they are enemies, and A ends up falling in love with B who destroyed/nearly destroyed everything A loved, and they have since come a long way but A's loved ones just can't wrap their heads around it, and hence comes THE confrontation full of accusations, deep-seated hurt, concern, and interrogation, and B feels the coldness drench their heart as they are bitterly reminded that they truly don't deserve all the sunshines and warmth and love that A is, and yet, they can't say the word to push A away from them because then, B would truly crumble to dust. And oh, how they loathe their selfish self for it.

: "I do."

: "And you think you deserve this? That you deserve them? After everything you've done?"

: "..."

: "You don't, you know that right? You don’t deserve this, this little bubble of happiness you've built when all you've ever done is hurt and destroy everyone and everything. Hurt A."
