An Evangelist Was Once Asked, How Can I Start A Revival? And He Answered, Go Home, Lock Yourself In Your

An evangelist was once asked, “How can I start a revival?” and he answered, “Go home, lock yourself in your room, kneel down in the middle of the floor, draw a chalk mark all around yourself and pray for God to start the revival inside that chalk mark. When He has answered your prayer, the revival will be on.”

It all comes down to this — Prayer ignites a person’s heart and passion for the lost to come to Christ. Then when that happens, wait on the Lord and He will give you His direction.

In Psalm 51, David sought to re-kindle his own spiritual joy and passion for souls after a period of spiritual depression, sin, and gnawing guilt, and to bring revival for other others. (Psalm 51:3, 4, 12, 13). If you read these verses, notice how we also must acknowledge God’s unfailing love, confess our sin, plead for a new heart, seek the joy of salvation for ourselves and others, and pray for the Holy Spirit.

Is your heart aching for revival to break out in your town, city or in the world? If so, follow the direction of the evangelist in the story above and pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please stir up my passion for the lost so that wherever I am I may to bring as many souls as I can to your heart. Renew in me a new, soul-winning revival because the world is falling deeper and deeper into sin. Let your light be the light that shines into each soul I meet who needs you.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

Remember The Days When Book Stores Were Flooded With Self-help Books? Books Like How To Win Friends And

Remember the days when book stores were flooded with self-help books? Books like “How to Win Friends and Influence People,” “Think and Grow Rich,” and “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus” were huge best sellers, but in looking back if you read these books, did these books really help you??

You may have read them and felt better for a bit, read another one - but then slipped back to where you were-- and that’s what most people did. They’d read a book, follow everything in it and see some improvement, but when it came down to it there was always one piece of the puzzle missing that they needed that gave a long-term benefit. That 'something' is the only “true self-help book” that has ALL the answers for every question and every human need and that is the TRUE guide book to life, and it’s called The Bible!!;

Here’s the thing...the Bible is God’s Word written from Him directly to EACH of us, and it speaks to us about EVERY issue of living from love, marriage, death, hate, and divorce...everything imaginable that relates to our life here on earth. The Bible speaks to the deepest parts of our being which we call our spirit man and it reveals knowledge which directly comes from the Holy Spirit of God. You cannot beat information like that!!

The Bible is authoritative, educational and inspirational and it’s effect is NOT temporary, but long lasting. It reaches deep down inside us teaching how to REALLY live slicing to the very core of our being and is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It is THE in-depth essential standard “how-to-live life book!”

My friend, If you have tried reading self-help after self-help book only to feel frustrated because there must be an answer you have not yet discovered, then open the Bible! Start with the book of Proverbs and you will be amazed at what wisdom you will gain! Follow up with the book of Psalms and then the Gospel of John in the New Testament and read the words of Jesus and His words will speak in a way that is more meaningful that no self-help book can match.

If you want true ’self-help’ there’s one book that delivers - THE BIBLE. Read it every day and in it you’ll find real answers to help you live a true life.

I Must Admit Sometimes I May Not Be The Best Listener, Especially When My Husband Is Talking To Me About

I must admit sometimes I may not be the best listener, especially when my husband is talking to me about something he considers important for me to understand.

That’s why hearing is one thing, listening with a heart of love is another.

A good conversation starts by paying attention with a ”listening” ear, not just by hearing words, but by taking effort on your part to understand and read between the lines.

Some people do not know how to express all they are feeling or thinking and that is when a trained ear by the Holy Spirit can hear more than what is being said. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor and He will help you pay close attention.

In today’ scripture we first and foremost must be swift to hear and to do our best to understand without talking over a person. It is important to comprehend what he or she is relating or feeling, otherwise they may feel you are not interested in what they are saying.

Secondly we need to be slow to speak and slow to anger. Are you guilty of this part? If we would follow God’ word on this issue, there would be less arguments and misunderstandings. The Lord is calling us to stop, think and pray before we speak. Jesus didn’t give us a reactionary heart to cause dissension with other. On the contrary, He gave us a heart of love and as Christians we must be aware of that fact when talking to others.

So, if you have times when you realize you are drifting away somewhere when you should be listening and paying close attention, ask the Holy Spirit to 'prick' your ears to hear with an open heart so that you might be totally engaged with the other person and contribute in your conversation. The other person will appreciate that you value what they have to say.

Remember, Silent and listen have the same letters, so stay silent so you can listen.

An Important Observation When Reading The Bible Is That Whenever Any Phrase Is Repeated, PAY ATTENTION,

An important observation when reading the Bible is that whenever any phrase is repeated, PAY ATTENTION, because what was said more than once ought not to be ignored!

Jesus repeats this phrase in today’s scripture SEVENTEEN TIMES, so do you think he is making a point! Absolutely! But are people listening?!? But he also went on to say and warn that…

“(people still) refuse to LISTEN; They cover their eyes. They cannot see or hear or understand. If they could, they would turn to me, and I would heal them.” Matthew 13:15

Friend, the Bible and the words of Christ are very clear and open to everyone!

Will you open your heart, eyes and EARS to what He has to say?

Whenever We Are Walking, We Are Always WalkingTOsomething OrAWAYfrom Something. While This Is True In

Whenever we are walking, we are always walking TO something or AWAY from something. While this is true in the physical world, it ’s also true in the spiritual world.

The road of life is like this too. Although we’re all moving towards the end of our time on earth, we are either consciously or unconsciously walking towards God or away from God. As today’s scripture verse says in more modern terms, those taking the 'right' path are those that fear that a danger is present if going the wrong way.

Right now, look up at the sign post of eternity. The arrow that you are following will eventually lead you to that destination, so the question is 'Which way is the sign you are following pointing?'
