But We Ought Always To Give Thanks To God For You, Brothers Beloved By The Lord, Because God Chose You

“But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

More Posts from God-is-sovereign

Are you a Calvinist? Calvinist theories have hurt my soul because how do you know that you are one of the elect ?
How do you know you’re elect? If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as the only One who can save you from your sins, then you are one of the elect.
Nowhere in the Bible can we find people who want to be saved and yet aren’t because they’re not one of the chosen. That’s a completely foreign idea. In fact, we aren’t even to worry ourselves with who the elect or the non-elect are. Instead the Bible says–repent and believe.
Personally, knowing about the doctrines of grace (aka Calvinism) gave me more assurance of my salvation in Christ and destroyed all my man-centered philosophies and theology. Knowing that God is sovereign over everything–including my salvation–gives you peace like no other.
God was the One who gave me understanding to see the depravity of my spiritual condition and gave me faith to believe in His Son. Had He not shown me the reality of my sin and His holiness, then I wouldn’t be a Christian today. It wasn’t because He was holding out His hand waiting for me to receive His gift; it was because He changed my heart and opened my eyes and made me see who I was outside of Christ. It’s all His grace and mercy.
I hope this helped you somewhat. So many anti-Calvinists are anti-Calvinists because they have been wrongly presented the doctrine of election. I know, because I was like that too.
Message me if you have any more questions regarding theology, or just anything in general. :)
God has made himself knowable and has given us a timeless book of truth to follow and understand him.
Why evolution does not deal with real history or truth.

Our Lord Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to “love one another,” because “by this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35). As a believer in Christ, your Heavenly Father says to you, “Be nice to your neighbour…” Our human tendency shouts, “No! I don’t want to! He isn’t treating me right. It isn’t fair that I have to be kind to him when he is being mean to me.” Still your Heavenly Father says, “Be kind to one another.” In fact, He goes a step further to say, “Love one another as I have loved you.” And when you ask, “Why?” He replies, “So others will see that you follow Me.” God-kind of love expects nothing in return. That was what Jesus showed to His disciples when He “poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet” That is the kind of love He displayed when He went to the cross for us. The love of Christ in the lives of believers is what sets them apart from the world. Today, look for someone to whom you can show such unselfish love.
