Summary: You were only supposed to be the seatmate of Jeon Jungkook, popular fratboy, in Philosophy class. So how the hell did you end up in a party drinking the night away in his balcony?

 Jungkook’s next words are unexpected, but then again nothing that has happened with him was ever planned.

With college being a constant nuisance and a seemingly never-ending repeat of the same old kind of lifestyle every single day, it was always great to have some sort of breath of fresh air which deviated you from the schedules you were terribly bored of. But what or who exactly was this new thing in your life?

He came in the form of the frat boy sitting beside you in one of your MWF classes, making the lectures slightly more bearable. He always smelled like faint cologne and leather from his own car, and also from his favorite black jackets. He was a different ingredient in the mix of your tiring university days, and though it wasn’t common for a guy like him would be friends with a girl like you, fate does have its own ways of pairing people up.

Jeon Jungkook likes your company- or so you think, because it would be awkward if he didn’t. Though you’re supposed to be fully listening to the discussion of your sixty-something year old professor, you constantly find yourself making small talk with him instead. You never really meet outside of class so you were practically limited to these encounters, but you’re happy that you’re close enough with him to smile at each other when you pass by in the campus.

Your friends have been linked to some of the members of his frat in negative ways, but you’ve never really heard that much about him as compared to his other friends. He’s pickier and more chaste than the rest of them, any girl who has the chance to simply encounter him often lucky enough that he even spared them his time. This is why you’re slightly flattered that he does so much as acknowledge you, but that’s practically it. The two of you are just seat mates in Philosophy, and that’s as far as your relationship (or the lack of it) goes.

The semester is coming to a close when you are invited by Jeon Jungkook himself to his frat’s sem-end party- something people can only show up to if they have been invited by members personally. It comes as a surprise to you since you’ve heard about many different people yearning to get a ticket to the house since their sen-end parties are the hugest ones of each year, and yet here you are, being invited by the guy with the most hard-to-get reputation of them all.

Because you know that he’s expecting you, you make sure to make an appearance. With absolutely no idea how you’re to blend in, you have to force yourself to pass through the door of the house, the scent of sweat and alcohol immediately entering your system. The bass thumps against the walls of the fairly large living room and you turn to see that a certain portion has been partially converted to a dance floor.

Neon lights dance across bare skin, acid greens and hot pinks playing with the eye as deafening music plays over and over on the dance floor, pulsating beat consuming every movement as if a heartbeat of its own.

Alcohol runs down your throat like water at this point, the atmosphere a little more hazy and blurry than it was twenty minutes ago—or was it two hours? You don’t remember, and at this point, you don’t really care.

Finals week is over, the accumulated stress and lack of sleep but a faint memory, swept away by tequila shots and colorful pills that makes creepy guys and expensive liquor more bearable to endure. Your mind is buzzing with euphoria, fingertips tingling with energy as the song reaches its peak, the beat drop creating a world of its own inside of your body as you let it carry your limbs, not a care in the world as you close your eyes and feel it.
