For some odd reason, I thought for sure Vander’s line to Vi in Welcome to the Playground was -

“You say run, they run. You say swim, they dive in. You say fire, they show up with oil.”

And I was like, maybe that should’ve been our first big hint about Jinx’s future (aside from Mouser). I mean, apparently since she was a little girl, if someone (Vi) said fire, she just presumed that they wanted more fire, so she brought oil.

Of course, that’s not the actual line; it’s instead – “You say light a fire, they show up with oil.”

But now, I’m just picturing someone yelling “Fire!” (as in, we need to put this out) and Jinx shows up with oil and makes it so much worse.

Later, after the fire is out, she’s super pouty and annoyed that she’s in any kind of trouble; because if they wanted the fire out, they should’ve said that instead of just fire!

I mean, honestly, how was she supposed to know they wanted it out by that alone.

do you ever think about how Vi is actually stuck in the past and not Jinx?

Jinx's mistakes haunt her, that's for sure, but she's trying to let her past die. she's slowly but surely moving on. not forgetting and most definately not forgiving herself, but accepting that this is the reality she lives in.

meanwhile Vi, who's been stuck in a person cell for all those years, still sees the world through the eyes not of a child but a teenager. she sees both Piltover & Zaun as absolute evil. in her eyes Silco is the villain, that's why she told the council that he only wants to destroy Piltover and that he won't negotiate. in reality the only reason Silco was (or would have been, if only he'd survive Jinx's tea party) forced to declare war is the fact that Vi gave chancellors the name. even Cait was willing to protect Jinx's identity, but Vi told them who caused the explosions.

when Jayce accidentally killed that kid, Vi told him that it was the kid's fault. she sees Sevika as a traitor because she works for Silco.

but not "Powder". she never seems to be able to accept that her sister wants to work for Silco. that he's like a father to her.

because Powder is "good" and Silco is "evil".

Vi thinks of everyone who's been a threat to their family all those years ago as her enemy. she feels like the whole world's against her, not realizing that the world has changed alot, but she herself, her opinions & the way she sees things never got the chance to evolve with it.

enforcers killed her biological parents & tried to take Powder away, so she started hating them. Silco tried to kill Vander, so he's the bad guy.

yet she still falls in love with an enforcer and tries everything in her power to save Silco's adoptive daughter.

amazing. arcane is a masterpiece and I'm very curious about the way it'll all turn out.

Arcane Alternative Ending

Silco agrees to Jayce’s deal to give up Jinx for the Nation of Zaun.

But oh no, she seems to have gone missing and is probably dead now. Oh well, we can’t do anything about that, let’s quickly move on with independence and forget all about that part of the treaty.

Also, completely out of nowhere and totally not related at all, Vander’s youngest Powder is back from the dead. Isn’t that such good news for Caitlyn’s new girlfriend, Vi? 

Just focus on how wonderful it is for Caitlyn to have a sister-in-law, who absolutely does not want to murder her.

What?!? Of course, that isn’t Jinx. Don’t be ridiculous, that’s Powder, a completely different person.

I can understand your confusion. But Jinx had blue eyes, but clearly as you can see Powder has pink eyes, which she’s always had. That’s not a new thing for her at all. 

Also, blue-haired girls who happen to be sharpshooters and explosive enthusiasts are not exactly rare in Zaun. Completely common in fact. The norm really.

Then you just have Silco being in complete pain, with absolute disgust in his voice, having to say -

That isn’t my daughter. I have no love for her. That’s my sworn enemy Vander’s child, that’s his baby girl. 

She’s not my precious little chaos demon and the only thing that gives this bleak existence we know as life any kind of light or joy for me. Nope. She means nothing to me.

Ignore Silco crying, he just hates Vander’s youngest so much it brings him to tears.
