However when some megacorp does it to sell me evil products or some influencer is trying to get me to buy nonsense skincare mud or cyberpunk looking face masks or weightloss pills, I think that's evil incarnate and their name goes into the Death Note (very mindful, very demure)

I’m a big fan of people finding a spiritual or religious practice that works for them but if you’re required to pay money to a particular person or buy a certain thing regularly from a certain place I don’t think that’s a spiritual practice. You may have been scammed.

Leon smiles, popping the microwave open and unloading the warm bag. "Popcorns ready!" he calls over his shoulder, scooping up the bowl and making his way back into the living room. His gaze settles on Ethan, curled up on the couch scrolling idly through netflix. Leon sits down beside him, wrapping his arm around his shoulders.

Ethan scrolls a bit longer, ultimately deciding on Alien. He knows Leon too well. It’s no secret he likes the classics. And though horror has become hard to watch now — with it hitting a bit too closely to his line of work and all — Leon’s willing to make exceptions for nostalgia’s sake.

“I wasn’t allowed to watch this one as a kid,” Ethan confesses, snuggling into Leon’s side like its second nature. Leon’s eyes flicker down to the wedding band on his finger, the metal cool against his arm. He pushes the thought down, willing himself to respond. Things between Ethan and Mia are… complicated, to say the least.

“I can’t imagine why,” Leon chuckles back, letting himself have this rare moment of intimacy.

They stay like that for a while, Leon relishing in the way Ethan clings closer to him at tenser parts, all the while allowing his attention to stray from the screen, opting to stare at his lover’s face instead. It’s not long before Ethan catches on though, glancing over and meeting Leon’s gaze.

“You’re not watching the movie,” he accuses, to which Leon grins, guilty. He leans in closer, pressing a kiss to Ethan’s cheek before burying his face in his neck.

“You caught me,” he confesses, voice laced with insincere apologies. Ethan makes a show of shaking his head, putting on an expression of mock disappointment.

“I can’t believe you.” Ethan snuggles in closer, entertaining the idea of intimacy. He returns the kiss, the movie now long forgotten.
