cady successfully taking the fall for the whole burn book is literally so deranged because it proves that NOBODY in that town has critical thinking skills. like… how tf would the girl who literally just moved there from a different continent THIS YEAR have all of this information about her classmates? the stuff in the book canonically predates her arrival at school by at least several months (considering that a partially visible page has a story about an unnamed girl dating back to the summer) if not years. she would have no reason to know these things. not unless she had students who were at north shore during that time feeding her information. If Cady Heron wrote the burn book alone (as the fact that she is the only one who gets punished implies that she claims), she at best had an unidentified coconspirator. also… you mean to tell me that no one in town knows how to recognize handwriting? they wrote that thing BY HAND. surely the teachers who have been grading these students’ assignments for years would be able to recognize their handwriting. come on guys. even if cady alone claimed responsibility, you could probably tell that her handwriting doesn’t appear until the last third or so of the book. everyone at north shore is a fool for going along with the lie.
