Buck knew people usually underestimated his intelligence and normally, he always let it brush off his shoulders but today was different. It was the first time it actually hurt. Eddie and Chim had been talking about this medical documentary on Netflix and when Buck asked which one, Eddie had snorted and told him to stick to Family Guy since it was more up his alley. Buck had chuckled but damn did it hurt. It still hurt three hours later. Buck stared up at the ceiling of the bunk room while going over it in his head. He probably should have said something. He could hear Maddie's voice in his head telling him to stick up after himself. He sighed and pulled out his phone.

Me:

Im not stupid

Eddie😎🚒:

What?

Me: 

I may not be as smart as you or Chim but im not dumb

Eddie😎🚒:

Where are you?

Buck scoffed and closed his phone before turning to face the wall. He was just drifting off when the door opened. He felt a hand on his shoulder shaking him gently.

"Buck?" Eddie whispered and Buck pulled the covers over his head.

"Come on, man." Eddie sighed trying to pull the covers back off.

"I just wanna talk." Eddie muttered and Buck scoffed.

"Be sure to use small words considering how dumb you think I am." Buck snapped and Eddie frowned at him.

"What are you talking about?" Eddie asked softly and Buck pulled off the covers to glare at him.

"Stick to Family Guy, it's more up your alley." Buck hissed and Eddie winced.

"Shit, Buck. I didn't mean it like that." Eddie bit his lip and Buck rolled his eyes.

"I'm not stupid, man." Buck said quietly and deflated into himself.

"Of course you're not. Buck, I don't for one second think that you're stupid." Eddie tried to reassure but Buck was still sore from the jab.

"Whatever…" Buck mumbled turning his back to Eddie to face the wall again.

He felt the bed shift and the mattress dip. Eddie was laying next to him.

"I learn something new everyday because of you. Just this morning, I learned that like everyone's fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different too." Eddie coaxed gently as he leaned over Buck's shoulder to look at him.

"Don't mock me." Buck winced and Eddie frowned.

 "I'm not. I'm serious...I know schools are the safest place in LA when an earthquake hits. I know that no word rhymes with purple. I know seahorses are monogamous and hold hands. You brighten my days with your facts, man." Eddie whispered and Buck bit his lip.

"You have a vault of interesting facts in your brain and you retain information like no one I have ever met. You are one of the smartest people I know." Eddie said as he leaned his chin on Buck's shoulder.

"Than why did you say what you said this morning?" Buck asked and Eddie smiled.

"Trypophobia, the fear of holes, which I also learned because of you. The documentary was about that and I know that freaks you out...that's why I said to stick to Family Guy…" Eddie explained and Buck felt like an actual idiot.

He turned to face Eddie.

"I'm sorry I'm being a sensitive asshole…" Buck muttered and Eddie frowned.

"No you're not and even if you were I like that you're sensitive. It's one of your best qualities." Eddie smiled as he laid back down next to Buck.

"You don't have to stay." Buck whispered but Eddie just smiled at him.

"You're my seahorse, man. Of course, I'm staying." Eddie stated softly lacing their fingers together.

As I laid there, I realized that all that strength could easily crush someone. I’ve seen him carry cars before. And somehow he’s surrendered that control– that trust to me. Maybe because we’ve known each other for so long. Maybe because he loves me. And in his arms, as safe as I can be? I realized that I love him too. Buck’s gift to Eddie and Christopher was finding a way for them to spend Christmas together (and he still managed to get a toy for Chris)

Okay but guys I was trying to capture a good screencap of the gingerbread scene (this was the best i got) and I kept getting annoyed cause no matter what the kids are kind of out of focus while Buck is far more defined. And then I sort of paused and was like wait…this view shot

So this is Eddie’s eye line and Buck is much much more in focus than everyone else hmmm….
