To the last question, brain's immediate thought was Prime Earth's (New 52) Scarecrow. (Also known as the current mainline/mainstream version of Scarecrow used in current comics and such) [Some things that I might say here could be slightly wrong here, just as a heads up]

For those who don't know about New 52 Scarecrow, his backstory, essentially, sums up with his father, referred to as Dr. Crane here, using little Jonathan here as an experiment to research fear.

(If you watched the TV series, Gotham, they used this version of his backstory. However, the difference here, though, is that Dr. Crane is the one who created the fear toxin, and the reason he was researching fear is so he can overcome it, having been frozen with fear and not being able to save his wife in a fire, more or less. Before Dr. Crane's death, he injected Jonathan with the toxins he created, leading to the downward spiral that created The Scarecrow)

Due to the abuse and experiments New 52 Jonathan experienced growing up, he came to realized that, "if he can control fear, he won't have to live in again." (From the DC fandom Wiki)

[In the official DC Character page for Scarecrow, it says "if he could control fear, it would never again control him" instead]

All in all, cause of his childhood, New 52 Scarecrow grew an obsession with phobias and fears, which later culminated into him creating his Fear Toxins. (Then again, that can also be said the same to the previous mainline continuity version before New 52. However, the backstory for that one is a bit different than New 52. It's my preferred backstory for Scarecrow, though, in all honesty...)

So this got me thinking. What if Jazz was an alternate to Jonathan Crane? Well, a version of him, anyways. She might fit Gotham's version in some aspects, but in others, not really. Idk how to explain but just- it would be an interesting take for sure if that were the case that Jazz was Jonathan's alternate. A "what could've been" for either in some aspects.

[Apologies for the rant here. Brain very much focused on the last question and in turn wanted to ramble...]

I've seen a couple prompts where Danny is an alternate universe Jason, and it makes me wonder who would be Jazz's alternate?

Immediately, I thought of Harley, but other than being interested in Psychology, they're not that similar.

But, also, what are the defining moments of Jazz's life? She seems to put most of her energy into trying to take care of Danny and help people, so someone who had a child/sibling die? Maybe something to do with her parents being mad scientists/potentially evil?

I'm Filipino but was raised in America for majority of my life. I enjoy reading/writing fiction since it allows me to escape reality, even for a slightest moment. Same why I enjoy drawing as well, as it let's be get lost in the world of possibilities and imagination.

For the most part, when I'm on my own, I'm rather withdrawn and silent. More of a listener than a speaker since I get nervous/anxious interacting with others, not to mention, it was how I was raised. When I'm with others I know and trust, I can be loud, chaotic, relaxed, feeling no need to hide, and be able to speak of my thoughts, problems, and worries with more ease. Though, I'd still need to recharge from too many social interactions at times.

I tend to hyperfixiate on stuff, jumping from one focus to another. It can get hectic, to the point where I might neglect taking care of myself with how invested I'm in it. Sometimes, it might last from a mere week to almost a year or two (longest was 4 years but it was surprisingly not chaotic like the others I've had cause it was mainly me just reading about... 4,000+ works worth of fanfics? At least, that's just a close estimation. Lost count after that).

I try to think logically but sometimes, my emotions might get in the way. Doesn't help when I tend to bottle up the more negative ones.

(Unsure if this is enough info bout myself. Hope this be enough, though!)

so first of all, the escape from reality thing hit me as something bane does, although his methods are a bit more destructive and involve copious amounts of venom, but i think he needs someone to show him better methods. creativity would be such a good outlet for him, and someone to teach him how to be creative would be good, and i don't know, from the way you speak (type) it feels like you would be very patient and giving when it came to helping someone learn a new skill

he's quiet too, i imagine. spending developemental years in a prison with no friends your own age would make you withdrawn, and a bit unlikely to strike up conversations with just anyone. but he's a big guy, so he has to put on a facade of bravery even when he can't be truly tough, but like you he would need time to power up his social battery before going at it again

the only problem is that he's a listener too, but i feel like it would be so much more beneficial to you both to sit in comfortable silence and just enjoy each other's company

he's got an addictive personality, so hyperfixations are something he could understand. but he's not lost as easily, and he's deeply soft and sensitive so it would become his favourite thing to take care of you while your brain is busy doing other stuff. and if he has to drag you away from ao3 with his bare hands he will, and he's strong, so you know he'll succeed

he's not stupid, he tries to be logical too. but his emotions, specifically his temper, get the better of him. but maybe you two could open up to each other, share in the negatives and try and focus more on the positives

i doubt he's ever really expressed the pain of his childhood, and someone who can understand bottling things up would feel like a safe person to finally open up to

DC x DP Idea Thing #4

Dual-sided Rebirth AU (Official name pending)

Brain had this idea for over a week (or 2...) now, rent-free, but what if Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie all reincarnated as Harvey Dent's kids? Jazz and Dan are the old set of twins while Danny and Ellie are the younger set. Will all of them remember their past lives? I say majority of it.

This is before Harvey got scarred and became Two-Face and maybe the mother is someone before Gilda Dent? Idk, all I know is that all of them present as Metas despite neither Harvey or their mother had the meta trait (this is a case that Black Canary II falls under from what my research says), Danny and Ellie's powers showing from birth while Dan's and later Jazz's activated after.

Danny and Ellie were thought to be dead when they were born but they proved otherwise. Danny froze a nurse's hand while Ellie went into goop mode a few times. Later Dan and Jazz both set something on fire but for two completely different reasons, severity, and time. At least to say, Harvey here has a handful, especially if he was acting as a single parent here.

Harvey's gonna have a bit of a hard time first as a parent, regardless if this is pre-Two-Face era or not. Man here is (secretly) terrified at the thought of becoming like his father to his kids.

It takes a while but he gets used to the life of fatherhood despite also being busy as hell. The kids help out by behaving (as much as they can anyways), though, Jazz's powers do come in handy.

(She's like SCP-999 essentially here when she notices people are stressed in her proximity, for lack of better words. No one noticed she had powers till it manifested into harmless flames that had calming effects to it when nearby. With her powers + support from her and the rest of her siblings, they managed to delay Two-Face's debut for a while later on. But uh, yeah, her powers are gonna be very helpful for Harvey when Dan, Danny, and Ellie all gain more powers cause OOOOO BOY, blood pressure, am I right?)

Harvey becomes more motivated to get into Law after all his kid's powers were shown so they can be seen/treated as equals and not have Metas outright banned from Gotham especially, even though he keeps his kid's status as "metas" away from public knowledge. It later becomes an open secret though.

As stated earlier, the Two-Face debut is gonna be delayed. Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie are gonna be very protective of their dad (and pa when they officially meet Harv) after the attack. Mother henning children. I feel like Dan's gonna empathize with both of them a lot in a way and have late-night talks with dad and pa about the darker thoughts they all have.

As much as they all tried, though, Two-Face is gonna make an appearance cause this is Gotham.

When Two-Face era begins, Harvey and Harv likely avoid the kids (even if Danny and Ellie are still teens while Jazz and Dan are in Uni) as their way of protecting them from overall villain stuff the two do despite all of them trying to reach out to him and supporting them, hoping they'll get better.

I'm ngl, I feel like Dan and Danny are gonna join the criminal business with their dad and pa (much to their protests) cause someone has to look out for them. Ellie joins in on occasions for chaos and shenanigans (cause yes) and Jazz is glaring at Arkham with so much contempt cause YOU AREN'T HELPING HER DAD AND PA PROPERLY! (As well as the other inmates but STILL- YOU CALL THAT PROPER MEDICAL PRACTICE- Jazz ends up burning at least something whenever anything about Arkham is brought up. Everyone in the family is scared cause her flames normally don't even singe a thing)

Jazz is creating her own practitioner-place therapy thing cause TO HELL WITH ARKHAM!

I... Honestly don't know what I'm writing here anymore. More exhausted then usual. Might add/edit later. Idk. Just- Reincarnation for Fenton Kids, Harvey being Gotham's original Famous Dad before Bruce (which speaking of- he's Uncle Bruce and Dan and Danny don't trust him which confuses Harvey and Harv), and just, angst, fluff, chaos, and shenanigans.
