I know you’ve got a lot of AUs but hear me out- mermaid AU where bringing someone a fish is like a courting ritual and the bigger the fish the more you like someone (it evolved from mermaids proving they can hunt for / provide for their paramour), and Dazai being confused as hell why this one mermaid he helped break out of a lab keeps using his gravity manipulation ability very specifically to throw sharks in front of him whenever he’s anywhere near the water. Is this a threat? Does he want to show him the cool sharks? Chuuya please I know mermaids don’t talk above water but we gotta learn sign language or something, this is getting out of hand, what am I even supposed to do with an oarfish?
LMFAOOO I LOVE THE IDEA OF THIS AU like imaging chuuya was actually a human before he was confined to the lab (or had some human origin that gives him the capability to talk but he just,,,,doesn’t know that. eventually dazai takes it upon himself to help him learn speech alongside sign language so that they can communicate.)
About reverse skk au, I just had a thought
So, normally apprentices get some characteristics from their mentors, even subconsciously, what if Atsushi gets Chuuya's "goes apeshit when he hears Dazai's name", but it's Akutagawa's instead?
It's like, this nice little boy who is a sweet bean and just helped this old lady to cross the road, then he hears "Port Mafia's Black hound is close" and he starts growing like a feral racoon ready to throw hands
(basically Atsushi's normal cannon behaviour with Akutagawa, just more feral)
OH ABSOLUTELY LMAOO it’s just that chuuya made sure his feral-ness was a learned behavior (atsushi’s working on it but he’s getting there)
Chuuya is literally capable of calculating advanced physics and statistical formulas in his head. HIS HEAD. He does it in seconds, little to no hesitation, while fighting.
i feel like people are forgetting some stuff about skk...
the whole point of skk is that they're both brains and brawns. that's how they survived alone for so long before becaming the double black. they don't complete each other perfectly, they suplement each other perfectly, that's why they're so strong.
chuuya is extremely smart and emotionally inteligent. at the age of 15 he was already the leader of the sheep, he got to rimbauld on the same time as dazai did. he can use his ability with crazy versatility, BUT he can still be fine without it.
and dazai can hold himself on a fight pretty well thanks. literally on the first episode he was alone against an out of control tigersushi. kicked the guy's face with a handstand from a sitting position while handcuffed. literally leaped out of the water like a flying fish holding his weight with just one hand.
chuuya could be on the same level as dazai and fyodor, but he's too human for them. he has empathy, and wear most of his feelings on his sleeve. and dazai could be as straightfoward as chuuya, but humans are so very interesting for him that he prefers observing, planning, picking apart the minds of everyone.
but
at the same time chuuya gets drunk with half a glass of alcohol and dazai bantered with a dog and ate dog food and both of those things happened on the actual main manga not on wan they're both weak and stupid and fucking pathetic i want to put them on a blender until they turn into juice.

I have to get this off my chest because the requisite number of SKK posts have crossed my dashboard and I can’t hold it anymore.
SO everyone is familiar with the HC that Chuuya basically admitted to drinking about Dazai leaving the Port Mafia, but allow me to provide more context.
We know that Chuuya states he opened an ‘89 bottle of Pétrus wine the night Dazai left. And Dazai wasn’t kidding when he says Pétrus is exorbitantly expensive. It is a collector’s item. So even a polite 750ml bottle costs something to the tune of five or six thousand dollars or more.
Not only that, but it has an alcohol content of 13.5%, as far as all wine goes it’s a bit higher (average being 12%) with most supermarket wines hovering around 6-8% for scale.
That said, we know two things about Chuuya; 1) the poor lad can’t hold his liquor for shit, and 2) he would not open this bottle like this unless he planned on finishing it.
We also know that Dazai confessed to planting a bomb under his car the night he left.
So allow me to set the scene: Dazai had defected from the Port Mafia, without telling his partner of 3 years. Distraught, Chuuya pops his most expensive bottle because what’s the fucking point, and absolutely trounces it. Finishing the bottle, he stumbles out of the building, beeps his car and it explodes, knocking him on his ass.
And from the ground, in the light of his flaming car he mutters “a’right, a’right… I won’t drink’n’drive…” before passing out in the street.
Prosecution rests.
