Welcome to throwback Monday where I pull out stuff from my art folder that I never posted. This is from two years ago actually. Anyways! Lore under the cut.
The character on the right is Palen, a fan character @enjoliquej made for JI years ago that sometimes I think about and make up little things for. He's a Plant Buddy and if I recall, the lore was his parents got kidnapped by the Shadow Buddys when he was young. So I thought, what if he had an older brother to cheer him up? That's the guy on the left. I don't know what his name is. But anyways, Plant Buddys usually have little flower antennae, but Palen and his older brother both have really long flower antennae that tend to get tangled. I'm thinking this is equivalent to freckles for them. Just kinda a fun messy thing that can happen. Or I guess curly hair would be a closer analogy? I think it's very rare, so maybe it's more like having red hair or a rare eye color? Harmless, but just a little character quirk. :) Plant Buddys also tend to have six vines on their back. Palen's thing is his always cocoons himself in them, probably a self-soothing thing. I guess it means you can hardly tell what's going on with him though because he's just a cocoon. XD

Then show who you are
This was my internal monologue about a second ago, because I realized that if I don't show my lovingly 'weird' side that I want people to love then i'd never know if they will. How do I expect people to 'get' me when I don't even show what they should be 'getting'. Sometimes when you do show it and people don't respond the way you want to, it can suck, but it can also mean making a friend / having a relationship with someone who loves you for who you are and with deep connections.
But what if I get my heart broken, is the climb even worth the fall?
I like to battle this thought with something very simple, amd maybe you would say you can't compare the two, I like the analogy.
If you're going to eat something you really love, will you stop eating it just because you know you will be dissapointed when it's gone?
You may try to stretch the moment and take as little bites as possible, but you know you will finish it.
It is about focussing on the present and enjoying what you have. When you eat something delicious, you don't continiously think about it being gone, but try to enjoy the flavour as much as possible.
Hell, make the climb worth the fall, while maintaining balance
And maybe just maybe, you won't even fall, it won't be all bad. The food analogy won't add up anymore because the you won't ever run out of it.
PS:
I know this is easier said than done, but I like to organize my thoughts and even with this weird analogy, I hope it helps someone and I hope I don't come of as pretentious because I have a lot to learn. Also I do get a bit unconfortable woth comparing a relationship to food but I hope that wasn't the messag ethat you got from it and more like living in the present blablabla. Still it matters, and so do you. Have a joyful day or night!

I have a few things to say.
1. I think I'm going to challenge myself to see how many fairies I can draw before I get burnt out/bored.
2. I always found Shannon's outfit so weird? So like, I changed it.
3. Yes, I like Winx Club. Yes, her outfit is inspired by Bloom's enchantix form.

𓇼 summer has only just started but you can't help but feel a bit bored. you’ve spent almost all your days inside, laying beside the fan. maybe getting out and about will help, why not try the beach?
𓇼 you walk along the shore, feet in the sand. the summer heat warming your skin and the ocean breeze right behind it to cool you off. surprisingly, its fairly empty. as you stroll by the sea, you spot something glistening.
𓇼 would you look at that !! a bottle sealed tight floats onto the shore with a little note inside. you pop the cork and pull it out, reading it intently.

Damn. I haven't written or even thought about writing ever since I came here. Maybe it's time I sat down and......write.
My wish for every writer in 2018 is that you all finish every WIP you got lingering around.

Yall, I just had a thought.
So we all know Clive’s murder board right?
We know why Kim Walker (Mrs. Stine) was circled.
But why were the other three circled? Were they also there that night? Was Clive just taking a guess on who would be targeted based on who was friends with Teddy back then?
And if he DID know they were there the night George died…
Does that mean by the events of the game, they’re already dead? Because Of the murders leading up to WN87? Did Marie and Henry axe them already?
But then, if that were true, Clive likes to stay informed. Why would he suggest them when he knows they’re already dead? And Kim died literally 10 years ago, yet she was circled as a possibility, not Xed out. Unless he meant to circle ONLY the dead people, which doesn’t make sense because Chuck is circled…
To ME this means Clive was probably just remembering the families closest to the Gallowses who helped in the campaign to smear George’s name (and therefore the kids highest on Marie’s shit list), perhaps because they were witnesses and bribed into doing it, regardless of whether or not they’d passed away.
Hmm…

anyway, a lot of this episode was fun but full stop evan ‘buck’ buckley doesn’t owe his parents shit and i’m tired of the story that children of abusive / absent / unhealthy parents owe them the opportunity or effort to repair that relationship. it’s been almost three decades of emotional negligence. it’s one thing that he forgave them in order to move on with his life and to give up the weight on his shoulders, but ‘they’re putting in an effort and i figure i should too’ reeks of the same reciprocity he’s been beholden to his whole life and that’s not moving on or healing. it’s expending effort on people who won’t do the same, have proven they won’t do the same, and a handful of therapy sessions does not make up for the absolute lack of formative emotional development. i’m all for buck letting go and moving on, and if giving a sweeping forgiveness to his parents is the first step, that’s fine, but the idea that he owes his parents any effort beyond that is 🌠 trash 🌠
anyway so —— and i want to preface this by saying that i don't actually mind eddie & ana, and i think a lot of the recent scenes we've gotten of them together have been cute —— but part of the whole issue with regards to eddie moving on + christopher is that, while we know that time has passed, of course, in an abstract way, we, as the audience, aren’t necessarily provided a lot of context to said passing. to us, as viewers, it seems like ana and eddie have been on two dates, despite it likely the case it’s been more than that, if not alot. it’s just that.....there’s nothing narratively to imply said other dates have ever happened, which makes it difficult to take into account when viewing the progress of their relationship. so it does seem awkward at best for ana and christopher to already be introduced, though, to be fair that is a personal preference per adult and all ( and i’m sure expedited on the grounds that this season is already reportedly shortened ) and doubly so because i think the whole introduction was definitely expedited as a way for eddie to deal with christopher’s discomfort.
the other thing, and frankly, the big thing for me with christopher in relation to eddie’s dating situation is that we know that while eddie is definitely, pointedly making an effort when it comes to showing his emotional vulnerabilities to christopher and being able to talk out situations, he’s not always great at employing those tactics versus pretending things are alright as to not unsettle his child’s perceptions. and i kind of feel like, for all the buck & christopher scene was very sweet, we kind of deserved eddie and christopher having a legitimate conversation about dealing with the grief of both the loss of relationship with shannon and the actual, physical loss of shannon, which is........never addressed. like we get eddie speaking to his therapist, and we get eddie’s conversation with bobby, but outside of that we don’t get a whole lot of closure on that, let alone with christopher specifically. which makes it seem like it was simply........not talked about between the two of them, aka the two people who should have been having that conversation in order to pave the way to ana being introduced as eddie’s new girlfriend.
