literally aiden and ashlyn this episode were two different flavours of autism shaking hands

Can we talk about how the only moment Eddie seems to hold himself back from expressing his feelings during the entire show is when he says goodbye to Steve ?

Like he's just so honest about his feelings the entire time, not embarrassed one bit about being scared, saying he feels like a coward, admitting he's jealous, showering Dustin with affection but then Steve is walking away and Eddie reflexively stops him from leaving and just stares for a while, before settling on an unpersonal "make him pay" that could have been directed to the entire group, not justifying singling Steve out.

Eddie isn't afraid to express his feelings during the entire season but then Steve is leaving and he just freezes. The fact that Eddie "personal space who?" Munson didn't just hug him is a testament to his feelings not being solely platonical, otherwise he wouldn't have only told him to be careful but he also would have hugged him without hesitation, not caring about Steve's reaction or everyone watching him.

(Eddie held himself back because he only then realised he actually caught feelings for Steve and got spooked a little)
