Thats Such A Boring Way To Name A Character, Honestly.
That’s such a boring way to name a character, honestly.
Apparently in the expanded Cthulhu Mythos there is a character named Cthylla, who is the daughter of Cthulhu and Idh-yaa
...which means that the family of the character whose name was invented to be incomprehensible and unpronuncable follows the Latin naming system/declension.
*sarcastically raised eyebrow* Wow, sure stretched the ol' creativity there, huh. Really branching out by having a male name in the 4th declension. So amazingly unheard of.
And for those of you who - like me - know how hard Latin grammar is, this isn't a post joking about that. Cause a whole lot of English names still fit that Latin format. Which means whichever Cthulhu Mythos creator is responsible for this did not bother to pick a naming system that was even unusual in, let alone unseen in, English.
They literally just went "feminine form is -a or -la" because it usually is in English.

Odysseus said he was gonna become the monster to "everyone but us" but neglected to inform his crew that "us" had three members and the other two are in Ithica.
One thing i've run up against when dealing with fandom and characters making less than ideal choices is that people seem to treat a character's decision being sympathetic, the decision being understandable, the decision being reasonable, and it being objectively the best solution for the situation, as synonymous. When those are 4 very different things.
Wait what's a buildings fire evacuation plan if you aren't supposed to use the elevator to get down
