Star Trek - The Man Trap
During a calm moment on the bridge, Lt. Uhura gets up from her station and heads over to Mr. Spock in the captain’s chair. When Spock points out an error she made on a recent report, she takes the opportunity to gently tease the half-Vulcan. She playfully flirts with him to make him visibly uncomfortable.

Star Trek - The Man Trap
Yeoman Janice Rand and Mr. Sulu round a corner and discover a crewman lying dead on the floor, his body’s salt completely drained by the Salt Vampire. Sulu uses the intercom to call for an emergency medical team, while Janice stands there, with her hands resting on her thighs, looking down at the disfigured crewman.

Uhura’s chat with Spock is cut short by a message from the transporter room. She starts to head back to her communications station, but she freezes in her tracks when the voice over the intercom reports that one member of the landing party has died. Uhura is stunned when the unemotional Spock merely acknowledges the report. She moves down next to Spock and exclaims, “I don’t believe it!” Spock tells her that no emotional display on his part will change what has happened. Uhura glares at Spock and shakes her head, barely able to contain her anger. Finally, she whirls around and returns to her station.

Just when it looks hopeless for Uhura, two things happen. First, a call comes over the ship’s intercom system from Captain Kirk for Uhura to report to the bridge Then, the door to the Botany Lab opens, and Yeoman Rand and Mr. Sulu walk out into the corridor. These two things break the Salt Vampire’s concentration. Uhura is able to snap out of the hypnotic spell. She looks at the crewman with an expression of concern, realizing that he is not what he seems. She quickly darts over to the intercom to respond to Kirk’s summons, then she hops in the turbolift to join Rand and Sulu. As the doors close, Uhura is finally safe!

Yeoman Janice Rand brings a tray of food to her friend Mr. Sulu in the botany lab. Then she goes over and talks to an animated plant that looks a lot like a hand puppet.

The Salt Vampire initially charms Uhura by speaking Swahili to her. Then, the creature uses its hypnotic powers to overcome her resistances so that it can drain her body of its salt. Uhura backs up against the wall, but she is unable to break free from the Salt Vampire’s hypnotic spell. Uhura is in serious danger!
