You had a lot of troubles in studying Herbology,you couldn’t understand a single word of what the professor said but luckily Cedric had offered you to help you studying.

Cedric shrugged his shoulders and laughed,opening the book <<Don’t worry,Herbology can be really annoying sometimes>> he reassured you holding your hand <<Not for you,I know you’re one of the best in your class>> <<I’ve never told you. The days went by,you and Cedric started becoming closer. You began to sit near each other during lunch,you studied together even the subject you both were good at and slowly became friends,but you knew Cedric had feelings for you,everyone knew it,Draco included. And what about that blonde Slytherin? He had been ignoring you for weeks now,he was leaving in his world where he was the king of Hogwarts and Astoria was his queen. They became the popular couple because they were hot and so much into each other. You thought Draco was into Astoria more than he was into you when you were dating,and you didn’t know whether to be happy he had forgotten you or to be so disappointed because apparently you weren’t so important anymore,and,maybe,you had never been.

You looked at the bracelet made in sapphire and emerald Draco gifted you with for your first anniversary:you didn’t know why but you were still wearing it,you couldn’t get rid of that jewel.

“It’s as shiny as your eyes”

You remembered what Draco had told you when you were opening it,sighing and asking yourself if he gave something similar to Astoria as well. Suddenly you remembered that Cedric was waiting for you in the courtyard <<Fuck!>> you mumbled,looking at the clock hung on the wall of your bedroom and then running away.

<<I thought you weren’t coming,Y/n>> Cedric smiled as soon as he had seen you <<I’m sorry-you scratched your head-I didn’t see the clock>> you muttered <<Are you okay?-he asked-you seem quite distracted>> he replied,pointing at your tie which wasn’t tied. He stood up and took the cloth of the tie,tiding it slowly. You looked at him:he was so close. You eyes jumped from an angle to another of his face:he was so pretty. His eyes were as deep as the ocean and as warm as the light of the sun,his lips were thin and so kissable. You loved to see them curving in smiles. <<Done>> Cedric soft spoken,still close to you. You stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds and then he showed one of his pretty smiles,making your heart flutter as he touched your nose with his finger.

<<Enough,Diggory>> a voice suddenly broke up the sweet moment. Cedric lifted up his head,looking behind you <<Fuck off Malfoy. Go away,it’s none of your business>> <<None of my business?>> Draco growled <<Right,none of your business!>> you exclaimed. The boy laughed and walked towards you. <<Then if it’s none of my business tell me why you’re still wearing the bracelet I gave you. Uh? You’re not dumb,If you wanted to take it off you would have done it a long ago...but you didn’t>> <<The fuck are you talking about? What am I supposed to do? Throw away a bracelet made in emerald and sapphire? I wouldn’t do it even if it was from my worst enemy!>> you replied <<Then give it back>> Draco smirked,teasing you <<How can you be so rude,Malfoy?>> Cedric growled <<Do you want me to punch you in that pretty face?>> Draco demanded,lifting up one eyebrow;Cedric laughed <<Show me,you asshole>>.

Draco grabbed Cedric from the shoulders and pushed him,the back of the Hufflepuff violently hit the ground,making a suffocated noise. The two students were now pushing and hitting each other,rolling on the floor to decide who was the strongest. They yelled curses against each other until Malfoy grabbed Cederic’s neck,blocking the boy on the ground. <<If it’s not enough I can kill you right now!>>.

<<Stop,stop! You’re not animals!>> you shouted in fear,grabbing Draco by the hood of his black robe,taking him away from Cedric.

<<Are you fucking mad?>> you shouted,slapping the boy’s face <<Fuck off>> he mumbled. You offered your hand to the Hufflepuff and helped him standing up <<I’m so sorry,are you okay?>> you checked on him <<It’s not your fault and I’m fine thanks. Just a few bruises here and there>> Cedric tried to tone the things down but you knew that nothing was as fine as he said <<Let’s go to- >> your sentence got cut off.

Draco stood up,pushed Cedric away and grabbed your waist gently,kissing you on the lips. A hand caressing the side of your neck. <<Choose>> he said <<What?>> you asked <<Choose. I’m tired of pretending I don’t care about you anymore! You rang the bell of Dursley’s house and Harry came to open the door <<Where’s Dudley?>> you asked rudely,without even saying hi to the boy <<Upstairs,why are you here?>> Harry demanded <<Why should I be here? I have to see Dudley,he hasn’t given my science book back since July started and I need it for tomorrow. But why should I give explanations to you,Potter? Let me in>> you pushed the boy aside and walked in the house,Petunia immediately welcomed you.

<<Hello darling! How are you? You want to see our Dudley?>> she asked,she had always been really polite to you and she had always loved spoiling you with sweets and homemade biscuits or cakes. You knew the woman hoped you would become Dudley’s girlfriend but you had never thought about it. Being Dudley’s girlfriend? Not even if he was the last boy on heart,just the idea of cuddle with him made you want to throw up.

<<I am. I need my science book back>> you said smiling;the woman was already offering you a piece of apple pie so you had to refuse it shaking your head <<Potter go and call my boy>> the woman yelled at Harry and he went upstairs,rolling his eyes.

A few minutes later Dudley came down <<What’s up?>> he asked,looking at you <<Where’s my book?>> you demanded,with your arms crossed and a pissed face <<Your book,right! Harry take it for me. It’s on my desk>> Dudley said <<Why should I? It’s her book in your room and you both have legs and hands to go up and take it>> <<I don’t fucking care,just give my book back to me!>> you exclaimed in exasperation,going upstairs.

Once you were in Dudley’s bedroom you took your book,run downstairs and then left the house followed by Dudley <<What about drinking something together?>> he asked <<I don’t have time>> you replied still walking <<But- >> you cut off Dudley’s sentece <<What the fuck is happening?>> you demanded,noticing that in a second the sky became grey and the cold wind started blowing hardly. You even got shives in your entire body because,suddenly,the temperature lowered.

You looked up and saw two strange black creatures flying towards you. You didn’t know how to describe them:they seemed to be skeletons covered in a black long ripped tunic.

As soon as Dudley had seen them he screamed and run away,but you were so scared that you couldn’t move. Your book slipped down from your hands,producing a suffocated noise as he touched the ground. Vapor coming out from your opened mouth as the coldness was slowly breaking into your bones. You didn’t know what to do,you just knew that you felt every single little drop of happiness leaving your body.

The two creatures began to fly around you,staring with their eyes,wich were just holes,into your soul. You could see their faces lacking of skin and flesh,getting every second more blurred. The energy in your body was slowly becoming less and less,until,without even realising it,you fainted.

Harry saw the grey sky and was about to go outside when he heard Dudley scream. <<There are ghosts mum! They’re black and they fly. They’re so fucking creepy!>> he yelled closing himself into his bedroom. Harry had immediately understood he was talking about dementors so,without thinking about anything,he ran outside.

He was looking at the sky,following the figures of the two dementors which weren’t so far away from his house. Once he reached them and saw you,lying on the ground unconscious,while the two monsters where sucking all your energy and happiness out from your pretty body he felt his heart break in one million pieces:he had already lived that scene,but his beloved godfather was replacing you.

He yelled out loud:<<Expecto Patronum>> and a beam of light hit the two creatures who just disappeared.

He run towards you and gently held your cold body,taking off his hoodie to cover you while he was softly calling your name <<Y/n,Y/n wake up. Please,wake up>>. His voice sounded like a sweet but far away lullaby.Your body was slowly warming under the gentle touch of the boy,you could feel butterflies in your stomach while your mind was desperately trying to understand where the voice was coming from. Once Harry’s voice sounded less far away you slowly started to get conscious again and opened your eyes. The sun was bright again,making everything harder to see. <<How are you?>> the voice asked you concerned <<I don’t know>> you muttered still confused,you needed a few moments to realise you were talking to Harry,who was holding you tightly.

You shut up and for a few seconds you stared into Harry’s deep eyes. You had never liked him,since you both were children you had always made fun of him with Dudley and you had always mistreated him. But in that moment you felt so safe in his arm and so sorry for had always been rude to him.

<<I was so cold and...the black creatures...what happened?>> you asked looking around,finally able to sit on your own. Harry took a breath of relief <<Luckily I arrived in time>> he said,adjusting his glasses <<You made them go away?>> you demanded <<Yes I did. You’re safe now,don’t worry>> he talked in a reassuring tone of voice,standing up and offering you his hand to help you stand up as well. <<I’m so confused...why were those monsters attacking me?>> you asked,holding Harry’s hand <<They weren’t monsters,they were Dementors>> <<Dementors?>> <<Yes,they suck happiness out from people’s bodies,but they’re not supposed to be here>> <<So where are they supposed to be?>> <<It’s a long story>> Harry replied,picking your book up from the ground to give it back to you <<Would you like to tell me something more about it since they attacked me?>> <<I’ll do. The boy was sitting under a tree in front of the Black Lake and he was so busy trying to make his Patronus work. He didn’t know why he was struggling so much,or better he didn’t want to admit the reason why he was struggling. He was so stubborn. “Potter can do it,I must can too” he was continuously repeating those words in his head,like a song repeats its chorus.

<<What is making the little boy so mad?>> you joked coming closer to Draco <<It’s not the right time to joke,Y/n. Don’t you fucking dare to make me feel angrier>> he replied <<So rude Mafloy-you looked at him with surly eyes-may I know what’s wrong?>> <<I can’t make a spell. I’ve been trying for the past two hours but nothing happened. My wand must be broken. Damn Olivander,I knew I shouldn’t have trusted him five years ago>> Draco rolled his eyes and you laughed <<Trust me,it’s not about the wand...it’s about you. What’s the spell you can’t make? I’ll help you>> <<I don’t need your help>> <<Stop being too proud of yourself and tell me everything. Come on,no one’s gonna know>>.Draco hesitated for a second but then he started talking <<It’s...it’s the Patronus>> he whispered looking down;you put a hand on his shoulders <<No worries,we’ll make it work!>> you smiled,trying to encourage your friend. The situation needed a full Hufflepuff behavior. <<Now stand up. Come one Draco,we don’t have the whole day>> you clapped your hands while the boy was standing up. <<Close your eyes,relax your body,breath in,out,think about your happiest memory and then say the right words. I believe in you,Malfoy>> you smiled holding the boy’s hand.

You looked at Draco so you could assure he was following al the steps to get the spell right. But nothing happened,and since he was so good at magical arts you immediately caught the problem. He was missing the most important thing the Patronus requires:an happy memory. <<Fuck off!>> he screamed again <<Keep calm! You need a stronger memory. Think about it>> <<I’m giving up>> <<Don’t you dare! Listen:you need to relax. Tonight the Weasley twins organised a fireworks show.Come with me and let’s have some fun>> <<Are you dumb? I’m not coming to a stupid show organised by stupid people>> <<Draco I promise you won’t regret it. Please,I don’t want to watch the fireworks alone>> <<Fine.But you have a favor to return>> <<I hate you sometimes,Malfoy>>.

That night

You were waiting for Draco in the Hogwarts garden where all the students gathered to watch the fireworks show. You were glad Fred and George organised it,so you could bring Draco there and help him making a happy memory. You knew the reason he couldn’t make that spell work was because he had no happy memories. He had always been through a lot because of his parents and his way of act based on the education he had gotten. But he wasn’t a bad person at all,he was so fragile and sweet,you just needed the patient to know the real him,and not the one he had always showed.

<<Fine. Here I am>> Draco said, coming closer with his arms crossed and a disgusted face <<Come one you can’t be so annoying-you replied gently squishing his cheeks with your hands-at least you can pretend you like my idea>> you laughed at him <<I really don’t know why I’m friend with such an annoying hufflepuff>> <<Because you know I’m not that annoying>>.

You barely ended the sentence when the first firework exploded and Draco started from fright <<Fucking fireworks>> he mumbled and you laughed,looking at the sky painted in yellow,green and thousands others colors which were shining in the darkness. <<They’re so pretty>> you smiled and even Draco soon seemed to melt in front of that mesmerising show of lights.

You wrapped your hands around the boy’s waist and he hugged you tightly <<I know you’re thinking that they’re not that bad. I see it in your eyes. They’re shining more than the fireworks themselves>> <<Don’t talk like this,it’s awkward>> he said,you were sure he was blushing. You laughed and then,suddenly,Draco started looking straight into your eyes. He thought they were beautiful:as deep as the ocean,as shiny as the stars,as pure as the spring water. He felt lost in them but,at the same time he felt they could be the place where he would had hidden during a storm. Without even realising it he gently placed his hand on your cheek;you could feel the cold of his rings on your soft skin and shivers crossing your back;then his soft lips started getting closer to yours until they touched. You were sure Draco was smiling during the kiss and it made your heart do a flip. <<Be my Patronus>> he whispered <<I will>> you replied,while the fireworks were still shining in the sky.From that day Draco’s Patronous was a bright dragon.
