Writing A Romance Scene Between Friends-turned-lovers
Writing a romance scene between friends-turned-lovers
1. Build Tension and Chemistry:
Start by creating a strong foundation of emotional connection and chemistry between the characters. Show the reader why these friends are perfect for each other.
2. Use Inner Monologue:
Reveal the characters' inner thoughts and feelings. Allow readers to see their internal struggle and realization that their friendship has transformed into something more.
3. Subtle Gestures and Glances:
Describe subtle physical cues such as lingering touches, longing glances, or an accidental brush of hands. These small actions can speak volumes about the characters' growing attraction.
4. Dialogue:
Develop natural and engaging dialogue that reflects the characters' personalities. Use humor, vulnerability, and sincerity in their conversations to convey the depth of their emotions.
5. Setting and Mood:
Choose an appropriate setting that complements the romantic mood. Consider factors like lighting, ambiance, and the time of day to enhance the atmosphere.
6. Build Anticipation:
Slowly escalate the tension and anticipation as the characters become aware of their changing feelings. Tease the readers by delaying the moment of confession or physical intimacy.
7. Show Vulnerability:
Let your characters open up to each other, sharing their fears and insecurities. Vulnerability can be a powerful tool in a romance scene, making the characters relatable and endearing.
8. Physical Descriptions:
Provide sensory details when describing the characters' physical appearances. Highlight what makes each character attractive in the eyes of the other.
9. Create Realistic Obstacles:
Introduce obstacles or doubts that challenge the characters' path from friendship to romance. Overcoming these obstacles can make the relationship feel more genuine.
10. Build to the Climax:
Slowly build the scene to its climax, whether it's a passionate kiss, a confession of love, or another significant moment. Make it emotionally charged and meaningful.
11. Emotional Impact:
Ensure that the scene evokes a strong emotional response from the readers. Let them feel the characters' joy, relief, and excitement as the friendship evolves into romance.
12. Aftermath:
Show the aftermath of the romantic scene. How do the characters feel afterward? What changes in their relationship? What are their hopes and fears for the future?
13. Consistency:
Maintain consistency with the characters' personalities and the development of their relationship. Ensure that their actions and words align with their established traits and the progression of their bond.

" Shh! He's doing photosynthesis right now! "

Ft Pickle Jiu and Plant Yuan. They're so precious ♡(*´ω`*)/♡
This is my fav trope y'know. It just... So fluff and really heart warming?? I need more tbh

Binghe likes to carry him everywhere 🥰

[Image ID. Two digital comics based on the Scum Villain fan fiction Shen Yuan of No Relation. The first is a coloured comic that shows two scenes; one of Shang Qinghua watching Shen Yuan and Lou Binghe and thinking,
"How dare this random self-insert steal all the bullying from my son! How will he become badass now!?"
The second shows Shen Qingqiu watching a similar scene between the two (and Ning Yingying) while thinking,
"How dare the little beast protect The Child from bullying. How will he learn to survive now!?"
The second is a five panel monochrome comic.
Panel 1: Shen Yuan stepson a rake, hitting himself in the face while Shen Qingqiu and Ming Fan watch in the background.
Panel 2: Shen Qingqiu smirks behind his fan. Ming Fan rolls his eyes and says,
"Ugh, how incompetent. How will he ever manage off the mountain?"
Panel 3: Shen Qingqiu looks thoughtfully at Shen Yuan, kneeling on the ground and clutching his nose.
Panel 4: A close up on Shen Qingqiu's face as he realizes-
"He will fucking die"
Panel 5: Shen Yuan holds his sword with pure delight sparkling in his eyes. Shen Qinqiu grips Shen Yuan's shoulder in one hand and his fan in the other, staring at his disciple intensely. He says,
"You will spend every second of the next few weeks becoming at least mediocre with that thing or so help me I will kill everyone on this peak and then myself"
the last part, "and then myself" is in strike through text.
End ID.]
Yes this is art for the same fic twice in a row but like. Consider.
The child will cause trouble. It is a simple fact. Every day does the boy stumble upon it, as if possessed by a spirit of misfortune. At the sect, it is a flaw which he can mock him for. Outside, it is one that may become fatal.
@grubus has written an objectively very good SQQ & SY dynamic and it has entranced me.
Is it weird that I want Shen Qingqiu to be as terrified of losing Binghe as Binghe is of losing him? Hear me out
Shen Yuan was a pretty boy with a dull life before he transmigrated. Yes, he had a loving family, but he had no aspirations and was basically set for life so he did nothing other than read novels and trash on bad writing.
He wasted away his days and wasn’t happy, if the fact that he settled into being “Shen Qingqiu” so quickly and completely forgetting his life as Shen Yuan tells us anything. But in both of his lives there was one thing consistent: Luo Binghe.
Whether it be as a character he loved or as his beloved disciple, Binghe was there. He was there for him to adore and fight for and protect. He brought him fulfilment in his first life, he brought him happiness in his second. And for someone like Shen Yuan, who lived a boring life, Binghe was like a lifeline.
And if I was at Shen Qingqiu’s place, I’d be terrified of losing the best thing in my life.
