Maybe if I had fluttering wings protruding from my back or too many eyes that never blinked, I wouldn't have to worry about my gender and why it hurts to be perceived as certain things. I just know that if I was born an uncanny creature in the forest, humans would stop trying to confuse me with all their societal nonsense. For now, I will settle for this body but soon I will hatch and no mortal will meet my gaze without the gravity of my existence upon them.
