Summary: a young male, y/n, debuts into bighit. The boys from BTS take it upon themselves to help and guide him, but one of them in particular seems to take a liking to the shy boy.

Y/N Y/L/N, latest addition to the bighit "family" as some might call it. A shy and kind, but talented boy. But then again, how couldn't he be talented if he was allowed to debut? It was a surprise to the boy as well, his audition not having gone the way he hoped for. But luckily they saw potential, and looked through the mistakes he made.

During his tour through the bighit building they'd show him where the other artists work, so he'd know where to stay quiet, and where he is to work on his songs. He got a little studio of his own to write and produce his songs, knowing his debut would be soon. So when he was left alone he got to know the place a bit and then got right to work.

A few days later is when he ran into some txt members, Soobin and Taehyun. They all politely greeted each other and got to talking for a bit, the main topic being y/n's upcoming debut. They gave him some encouraging words, and a bit of advice based on their experiences, and then went on to join their other members, leaving y/n alone to wander back to his studio.

A week after that is when y/n first ran into Jungkook, literally. The older boy seemed to be in a hurry and didn't look when he turned a corner, bumping into y/n, causing him to fall over. Jungkook exclaimed in surprise and quickly bent down to help the small boy up. "I'm so sorry, I was in a rush and wasn't looking where I was going." But instead of replying the other boy just nodded, his cheeks seemingly turning red, and his eyes slightly bulging. Unknown to Jungkook, the younger boy was just kind of intimidated and shy in front of the good looking but sweet boy. "I have to get going, I'm sorry again." And Jungkook continued on his way, leaving the flustered boy behind.

Ever since that incident y/n had been bumping into him and the other members quite occasionally, and he got along with each of them well. They all seemed to want to help him with the debut and the stress that will come with being an idol. All of them offered a different kind of support.

Jin is mostly the type to make sure he takes care of himself. Always reminding him that eating and resting is important. Yoongi is the type to listen to the boy rant for a bit, maybe not giving advice, but the fact that he listens can be enough. Hoseok is the one that has assisted him with the choreography for the debut. Namjoon as a leader knows a lot about responsibility, and as a solo artist you'll have to face a lot of stress and responsibilities. So he gives advice and tips concerning all that. Jimin and Taehyung aren't people y/n runs into a lot, but when they do its all so natural. They talk and have fun, making y/n forget about all of his stress for a little bit.

But the one to have been there the most is Jungkook. And to be fair, y/n always goes to him the most, feeling the most comfortable around him. See, y/n is a very shy person, so approaching someone for any reason at all isn't a common accurance and is very hard for him. But Jungkook is one of the few people he would dare ask if needed. Maybe because Jungkook is and always has a huge support to him. Like right now.

"You seem nervous." Jungkooks voice is soft and gentle, like talking any louder will startle the younger. And to be very honest, it actually might. Y/N flushes, keeping his eyes on the screen in front of him. "I am." He whispers. He sounds very unstable and shaky, sounding like he might fall apart any minute. Jungkook sighs softly, turning the chair the boy in sitting on and kneeling, getting to his eye level. He gets close and lays his hands on the boys knees, taking note of how y/n looks anywhere but him. So to create eye contact he lifts one hand to the boys chin and turns his head to his. "Its okay, its been 7 years and I still get nervous when we drop an album, it's natural. But you'll be okay, people will love it." He smiles, dropping his hand to y/n's shoulder instead. This seems to cause the boy to feel flustered, as his ears turn a bright red and he chuckles nervously. "Thank you, Hyung." He stutters out. Jungkook laughs and pulls the boy up from the chair and into a hug. "Anytime."

"Whatcha working on?" Y/N startles at the sudden voice behind him, but doesn't turn around. Instead he keeps drawing. "Some sketches for upcoming mv ideas." He softly tells Jungkook.

Y/N is still that shy small boy around Jungkook. He still speaks softly, stutters and gets flustered by almost anything Jungkook does. And for some reason it drives Jungkook to him, he finds his responded cute, endearing. He loves it and purposely draws them out. Like this

"Hmm, like what?" He comes closer, almost standing against the back of the chair y/n is in, and lays his hands on the boys shoulders. It's impossible to miss the way y/n tenses under his touch, but doesn't respond to it. Still drawing the boy starts to explain his ideas, talking more freely the more he gets into it. Which is another thing Jungkook loves, how he starts talking louder and faster when he's invested in something. But instead of paying attention while y/n speaks he focuses on something else. The way the boy seems to jerk and tense as Jungkook softly starts to massage his shoulder. Y/N starts stuttering and tripping over his words, clearly not being able to think properly while being touched like this. But what neither of them expect is the yelp he let's out when Jungkooks hands wander to his back. Both of their faces turn red and they go back to what they were doing earlier, neither of them wanting to bring it up.

"I don't know if I can do this, Hyung." Y/N and Jungkook sit on the couch in y/n's studio late at night. Both of them next to each other as y/n talks about his troubles. In this case its an upcoming award ceremony, and the boy has to do a speech. But he knows his shyness will mess it up for him, and he's terrified. "You can." Jungkook simply says, laying his head on y/n shoulder and yawning. He feels the boy tensing one again but he doesn't milk it this time, knowing it's not the right timing. "You're y/n. You're talented, kind and amazing. You can do anything." He continues snaking an arm around the younger. Y/N coughs and looks to the left, the opposite way of where he'd be able to see Jungkook basically cuddling into him. "I hope you're right."

"I WON!!" y/n yells as he runs up to Jungkook. He has a huge smile on his face and his yell could probably be heard throughout the entire building, but neither of them care. As the younger gets closer Jungkooks first response is to wrap his arms around him and lift him up. "I'm so proud of you." He exclaims and puts the boy down. Y/N face could be compared to a tomato and while the smile is still on his face his eyes show just exactly how flustered he is. His excitement gets a bit lesser and the shy boy Jungkook knows so well is right back in front of him. He smirks, knowing how easily he can make the boy act like this. "It's all because of you, Hyung." The smaller whispers, causing Jungkooks heard to flutter.

He moves some hairs out of the youngers face and smiles the way someone smiles at the one they hold dear and love the most. "I told you you're amazing."

Jin: you know damn well this man will scold you to no end. But it's because he loves you, don't think too much of it. He doesn't like seeing you hurt and now knowing you're keeping it from him? You're not hearing the end of it, that's for sure.

Yoongi: gives you the 'disappointed but not surprised' look. He talks to you about the importance of taking care of yourself and tells you to tell him next time. But he leaves it at that.

Hoseok: you bet he will force you to sit down and check the spot where you got hurt. He keeps asking why you kept it from him as well, he just wants to take care of you!

Namjoon: lectures. He will be stern when telling you to take care of yourself and not to hide such things from him. He thinks that honestly and being open is very important, even if its about something as trivial as this.

Jimin: will mess with you in all honesty. You hid it from him so he's not going to care for you until you apologize. He's your boyfriend, you should've told him. Will help you out after you apologize if you need it.

Taehyung: has a little talk with you about why you would hide it from him. Not much he would do from there, unless you need help.

Jungkook: in all honestly i think he'd freak out at first, asking over a hundred times if you're okay. But as soon as you assure him you're okay he'll be more than willing to help around where its needed. Even where it's not needed.

Affinity pt 2 pt1

Neither of them were sure where it all changed, and what caused it. It used to be affection between two close friends, those who trust and comfort each other. But when did it include romantic feelings? And what would that mean for Yoongi and y/n? It left both of them confused and insecure about their bond, scared that somehow they were gonna mess this up. Scared that they wouldn't be able to hold in their feelings anymore. Scared that their friendship would end right there and then.

Which leads to where we are now. In order not to slip up Yoongi had decided that it would be best to take some space from being around y/n all the time. He knows its unfair to them, but he also knows he can't be around them when all he wants to do is kiss them whenever he sees them. Besides, it's a totally stupid idea to date one of the other members! Isn't it?

Y/N has noticed his change in behavior though. They used to be inseparable, joined at the hip. Where yoongi was you'd find y/n, and vice versa. So how wouldn't they be able to notice? He's barely around anymore. And the hardest part is that they don't even know where it went wrong? Did he get annoyed by them? Did they do something to make him angry? Did he notice their more than platonic feelings for him? All these thoughts creep around in their head at night, making them insecure and sad. Maybe this is the end of their friendship, maybe this can't be fixed.

Another few weeks of Yoongi avoiding y/n and faking affection in front of cameras. He's smart, no lie. He knows that if he also cuts off from their where their fans could see they'd catch on. And judging my theories and predictions you could say they're pretty clever. It wouldn't go unnoticed.

But y/n keeps hurting more and more, feeling tears rush to their eyes whenever he walks out or ignores them. They hate that he keeps leaving the room when they enter, that he doesn't listen to them during group conversations, and that the only words he spoke to them the past few weeks were "did you see my laptop". They're convinced it's their fault.

They lay awake at night, crying and panicking, trying to come up with yet another way to get Yoongi to talk to them, but to no avail. They've tried everything. He won't budge.

The realization hits them as they choke out a loud sob, feeling anxiety gripping at their heart and lungs. Its getting harder and harder to breath the longer they keep going at it. This isn't the first time they've had a panick attack over this situation, it hits them hard. Losing the one person that you trust and love with every viber in you and it might be your own fault all together.

The volume of their sobs and breaths keep raising as their head starts pounding. Everything blurs and the only thing they can focus on is the fact that they can't properly breathe anymore. No matter how hard they try, no air fills their lungs. Everything is too much. So much that they don't even hear the frantic knocking at their door. Nor the voice telling them to let the person in. They don't hear a thing except for their own.

It is late at night when Yoongi lays awake, thinking and stressing. The upcoming comeback is really weighing down on everyone, and the thing going on between him and y/n isn't helping him at all. Of course he feels bad. Fuck, he feels awful every time he catches their sad eyes or the tears threatening to spill. But he can't seem to bring himself to approach them. To apologize. He thinks its for the best, considering his feelings for the other haven't faded away yet. And even if he does want to apologize, he fucked up. He doubts they'll forgive him that easily, he's been a horrible friend to them.

After about half an hour he decides to get out of bed and maybe grab a glass of water. Maybe the little walk and hydration will help him calm down so he can sleep.

As he walks out of his room he spots the door to y/n's room, feeling an eerie feeling coming over him. Something feels off but he just blames it on the guilt he feels inside. He pushes it aside and keeps walking past the door and to the ki-

"What the hell is that?" Yoongi whispers to himself, hearing a sound coming from y/n's room. It doesn't sound like a normal sound, he hasn't heard it before coming from there.

As he hears the sound again he comes closer to the door, wanting to know what was happening behind it.

And he hears it again.

"Y/N are you okay? Open up please." He says, trying to open the door, but to no avail. He recognizes the sound all to well, having been the one they came to whenever they felt like this. The sobs, the shallow breathing. He hates knowing that they deal with it alone now, surrounded by nothing but coldness and shadows.

He knows its wrong, ignoring and avoiding them at all costs only to demand for them to open the door right now. A friend should be there not only through hard times, but also to laugh with. But he fails to notice be a friend until he hears them being like this? God, he hates himself.

"Please y/n..." he begs, but once again they don't respond to him. Nor do their sobs quiet down, they're full on breaking down in there and he feels powerless out the door.

He considers his options, but immediately denied the one where he leaves. He doesn't want to leave them now, not when they need him the most. So he figures he needs to take some more,,, extreme,,, measurements.

Y/N has their hands in their hair as they try to gaso for air, the hard breathing turned into barely breathing. They feel like they're about to pass out. Their usual methods don't calm them down, and they can't seem to do anything else other than cry. They don't hear the door come off its hinges. They don't notice the man approaching quickly. Not until they feels arms around them, pulling them into something solid. A chest? A soft voice is heard, barely audible above their breathing and crying. "Hey, hey, calm down. I'm here, you're okay. Just try to breathe for me okay?" Yoongi speaks, trying his best to remain calm and keep his voice low. He has experienced them like this before and found out they don't hate being touched during attacks, and they told him the best way to handle this with them. He takes deep breaths, chest breathing excessively, hoping that way they're able to feel his chest raising and falling. And luckily they do.

After a while of mimicking his breathing and listening to his soothing voice they calm down enough to breathe properly. They stopped crying mostly, sniffling here and there.

"Are you okay?"

Y/N pulls away from Yoongi's embrace, looking kind of offended at the question. Their face tells him he shouldn't have asked that.

"No, of course I'm not fucking okay Yoongi!" They whisper-yell, knowing fully well that the other members are most likely asleep by now. The shake their head in disappointment and sigh, "thanks for helping, could you get out now? I'd like to go back to sleep." They dismissively wave towards the door and turn back to their bed, waiting for the sound of the door closing.

But it never comes.

They turn back to Yoongi, ready to scold him and say some more but are taken back when they really take him in. Huge and dark eyebags. Bloodshot eyes. He looks tired and sad. This isn't what they are used to with Yoongi. He used to look to lively and happy around them. And now it has changed. For both of them.

Before y/n can say something Yoongi speaks up. "I... im so sorry." He mumbles, keeping his voice soft and sad. He looks ashamed, probably feeling bad about this entire situation. But y/n doesn't have it, a simple sorry doesn't make up for the entire situation he put them through. "I don't care." Their voice is raspy and laced with spite. "You ignored me Yoongi! You deliberately avoided me and didn't even look at me. What did I do?" The question comes out as a whisper, tears once again welling up in their eyes. They hate it. They're not weak, not at all, but whenever they get frustrated they start to cry.

"What? No? Baby, you did nothing wrong! Please..." yoongi slips up, but y/n chooses to ignore the petname, deciding its not the right time to address it. "Then what happened, Yoongi? Why are you doing this. Did I do something? Do you not want to be around me anymore?" The tears once again fall, their voice cracking and their hands shaking. Their while demeanor of wanting to be strong while confronting him is falling and there's nothing they can do about it. "If I made you angry I'm so sorry. Do you hate me? Please im so so-"

"I like you."

The room falls silent.

"You what?" "I like you. I'm so sorry. I started to avoid you because I was hoping my feelings would face, but they didn't. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable." Yoongi rambles, forcing himself to look in their eyes, but feeling the urge to look and maybe even walk away. But he forces himself to be strong, he doesn't get to walk away from this. Not when he caused it in the first place.

Y/N blinks as their mouth opens and closes several times, clearly trying to come up with a response. But they can't. They know they like him back, but they don't want to just forget all this and live happily ever after with thim. This isn't something you can easily move on from. "Yoongi, if you think I'll forgive you now because you l-" "no! You don't have to. I know I fucked up. And I know things won't be the same from now on. But after seeing you like this I realized what I was causing. So I figured you deserve the truth. Once again, im so sorry. I shouldn't have let it come to this."

Y/N nods and gives a weak tight lipped smile, nodding his was. "We won't be the same. But we'll try."

"Why would you give me a second chance so easily?" Yoongi gapes at them. Yes of course he's glad he's getting another chance, but he didn't expect this.

"Because I like you too. So I'm willing to try."

It is no secret that y/n and Yoongi have an unspoken bond, one everyone knows of. Its clear by the way they always stick together, the way neither of them seem to mind the constant closeness. The way Yoongi softly smiles at them when they are together and the way y/n always seems to pick him to stay next to.

In all honestly Yoongi is kind of like a comfort to them. Just being around them works wonders for their mind and heart. They don't even have to verbally communicate, just being around him can make any bad day good and any bad thought disappear. Even the panic they sometimes feel at airports and other places crowded with screaming fans seems lesser when they cling to Yoongi's arm. Nobody seems to know why this is, even y/n themself doesn't know. It had been like that from the start.

People would think Yoongi didn't like that, especially the ones that don't know him well would assume he would even hate it. The constant closeness, the platonic touching and the hugging. New fans and antis have been led to believe he's a cold person. But those who do know him see he actually doesn't mind at all. By the soft reassuring smiles and the comforting hand holding they see it's far from that actually. He somehow feels a sense of comfort as well, being around them makes him feel serene and calm. So you could say they are perfect for each other.

The first day they met, before debut, it already started. Meeting new people, especially know you're going to work with them and be around them alot from then on, is scary. He could immediatelt sense the discomfort on y/n's face. The way they tensed when someone talked to them, the way they would try to avoid conversations as much as possible and the way they seemed to close off all together. The other boys didn't really seem to notice, but he did. And he surprised himself by taking it on himself to make them feel better. So he sat next to them and tried to initiate calm and simple conversations with them, hoping it would get them to open up to him. And they did. We could assume that's the reason they have this bond now.

Next example is how they're in his studio a lot. They don't necessarily speak or try to get his attention. They just enter and do their thing, be it laying down, working on music or just doing their own thing. It has become a regular thing for them, and Yoongi can barely remember a time where they didn't show up in his studio every other day. If they didn't show up for a few days it would even be concerning. With the boys Yoongi might have gotten annoyed by now and told them to stop, getting distracted whenever they show up. But it's different for y/n, their presence doesn't bother nor distract him. Besides, they always take care of him as well, making sure he eats, drinks and sleeps well. And with them he doesn't mind the little breaks, he doesn't mind when they physically stop him from working. Because he knows they care about him and know what's best.

After a little while of knowing each other they got physical very quick. Hugs, holding hands or just arms or legs touching while sitting next to each other.

Fans point out a lot that y/n and Yoongi are always together. That they're joined at the hip. Some of them would use this as 'evidence' for their ship but most can see what's really happening here. They're glad that y/n and Yoongi like each other so much, it means that they at least have each other. No matter what happens.

Last example will be right now, as they're doing a live. All 8 of them.

"I bet that didn't actually happen." Jimin laughs after listening to Taehyung's story, who was almost yelling while trying to convince them he wasn't lying.

"You sure? Tae always experiences odd stuff." Namjoon remarks, looking at the camera after saying that, raising an eyebrow at army.

Y/N laughs cuddling more into Yoongi's side. They had a long day and everyone is tired, but the boys decided they wanted to do a short vlive before going to bed. While y/n was fully on board and was excited to interact with armys, they still felt very tired and just wanted to be in bed. But they figured cuddling up to Yoongi would have to make do.

"Y/N stop hogging Yoongi-oppa." Jin reads a comment out loud, laughing as he reads the English comment using a honorific at the end of it. He turns to y/n and Yoongi and whines, "yes, stop hogging them," he mockingly says.

Yoongi scoffs as y/n chuckles and shakes their head. They throw their leg over Yoongis and forces themself closer, laughing a bit harder. "No way!!" Yoongi seems to turn a bit red at this action but manages a small and low chuckle, playfully rolling his eyes at them.

"I, for one, think it's endearing." Hoseok speaks, smiling gross lovingly at the intertwined duo.

"Sickening, really." Jimin adds, but the look on his face says otherwise.

"You never hug me like that!" Taehyung grunts, frowning at y/n. But as soon as y/n opens their mouth to speak, taking him a bit too serious, he laughs. "Just kidding."

"They're really something else aren't they?" Jungkook pipes in, giving a soft close mouthed smile.

"You two should just da-" Jimin started reading another comment, laughing like crazy, but getting interrupted by Yoongi.

"Don't."
