Willy Wonka strongly protests today’s verdict!

A MESSAGE REGARDING TODAY’S EVENTS
I will start by saying that I’m not a die-hard Johnny Depp fan. I think he’s a good, kind person, and he happens to star in my favorite movie ever, but I’ve never gone out of my way to see a movie because Johnny Depp was in it. But I will take the time to write this because I think it’s important.
The Twitter response (and when I say that, I mean mostly from verified accounts–you know, people who work in PR, internet critics who think their snarky tweets are clever, or reporters from news sites that nobody has ever heard of) has mostly been sickening. The people attacking Depp and attacking his fans are terrible people. The worst part about the ruling is that it creates the illusion that Amber Heard was entirely innocent in any of those events. Even if the most egregious allegations against Depp are true and Amber Heard is innocent–which the evidence suggests not–but let’s pretend for a second that’s true, it would still point to the fact that Depp is at least a victim of substance abuse, and it would make the flurry of hatred towards Depp today equally as vile.
Some words of encouragement that I know seem to be lacking in these hopeless times: I know Depp doesn’t give a sh*t about what the hateful, ill-informed, hypocritical swine on Twitter say about him. I know that he has thick skin and, on some level, must have prepared for this ruling, as troubling as it may be. I know that he’s strong and of course isn’t going to let this get him down. But more than anything, I can tell he’s at a new stage in his life. The fact that he created an Instagram earlier this year gives him the chance to be more intimate with his fans than he ever has been before. And I know for a fact that the outpouring of love and support he has received–whether it be online or waiting for him with flowers outside the courthouse–is deafening in comparison to any of the hate he receives (and that’s not just because the amount of people on Depp’s side substantially outnumber those on the opposing side).
Whatever tactics Amber Heard & co. have been trying to win public favor, they have obviously not worked. Example: I, for one, started this year not even considering myself a Johnny Depp fan, but now… I proudly do. Of course he’s an amazing actor, but it’s just so obvious that he deserves better. It’s absurd the length people will go to defend Amber Heard despite the heaps of evidence that point to the contrary. So yes, despite what I may have suggested in my first paragraph, I will be buying a ticket for Fantastic Beasts 3 and I will be skipping Aquaman 2 (unless D.C. makes the obvious decision in that regard).
Johnny Depp is innocent

being a fan of Johnny Depp is one of the things I‘m most proud of about myself. I never, for once, doubt him. always stood by his side since the beginning of all this shit despite ppl sending me death threats. I will always be there for him. he IS innocent. The fact he’s still so strong and remains so sweet and gentle despite everything he’s been through. He is my hero.
Justice for Johnny Depp
this is long overdue...🍫😎
Not as good as I wanted it to be, but here is @willymywonkers ‘s cute as OC and young Willy 💖
