niamh's  cottage  is  usually  one  of  kleio's  favorite  places  to  rest  between  jobs  .  she  brings  her  whole  self  ,  but  is  sure  to  not  bring  danger  to  the  door  of  the  selkie  .  she's  a  mercenary  ,  not  a  monster  . 

but  now  ,  she's  a  little  bit  injured  (  her  shoulder  feels  shredded  )  ,  and  her  horse  is  dead  ,  and  it's  bucketing  rain  ,  and  she's  all  but  clawed  her  way  up  the  coast  to  the  little  cottage  that  feels  as  much  of  a  home  as  the  temples  of  ares  . 

she  knocks  on  the  door  with  a  bloodied  ,  numb  hand  .  she  sways  ,  barely  catching  herself  on  the  door  frame  .  the  door  swings  open  ,  and  she  lurches  a  little  inside  the  cottage  .

❛  i  just  didn’t  know  what  to  do  ,  ❜  she  mumbles  ,  words  slurring  as  she  finally  gives  in  to  the  blood  loss  ,  and  collapses  before  niamh  .
