wen's note: ummm... this took a long while :') mostly because i wasn't feeling good for a bit and decided to take a small break from writing but! i feel better now creative wise and in general!

cw: poly established relationship, modern au, fluff, kazuxiaoreader all have a horrible body clock, please let me know if i missed anything!

there are two instances every morning . . .

on some mornings, you awake before your teal-haired lover, who has yet again stood up late practicing his skills or playing games online. his chest rises rhythmically as he softly breathes. the sun barely rises above the skylines as it decorates the dawn with yellows and fading blues.

xiao isn't used to waking up without you or kazuha still snuggled up to him so as an apology, you replace yourself from his hold with a cold pillow which he brings closer to his chest, thinking it was you as he sleepily kisses it's ‘forehead’.

when you walk to the kitchen, kazuha would be there, sitting down at the dining table musing to himself as he drinks the first of his many cups of tea for the day. his thoughts would either be about books he has read or simply his poetry about how seeing you with the first rays brightens their days like nothing else.

still out of your bearings and unable to deal with the giddy feelings bubbling in your chest, you flop yourself on top of him as you lazily wrap your arms around his neck. biting his shoulders gently as revenge for how flustered he makes you as soon as you wake up.

“can i help you with breakfast?” is the first question he always expects from you on days like this, and kazuha is more than happy to delegate eggs and toast duty to you as prepares a fresh bowl of fruits and breakfast foods that he and xiao eat back home.

when xiao finally wakes up, you run up to him and smother him with hugs while the scent of warm soup fills his senses along with a mug of hot chocolate and kazuha waiting for him on the dining table. breakfast is then spent in comfortable silence, while you three would occasionally talk about what to do for the rest of the day.

on the other hand . . .

there are rare mornings where all three of you would receive a rude wake up from the sun at its peak during the noon while the air-conditioning combats its warmth. it's miraculous how you and kazuha haven't sweat a single drop with how warm xiao is and how you both burrow your bodies closer to his.

it's peculiar how even the early bird of your trio is still appears asleep, cheeks slightly red by how it rubbed against xiao's night shirt. you even woke up before him! although your head was hazy and you're extremely disoriented despite only sleeping in.

you sat up, trying to fill in yourself on where you are but two different hands reach for you. one reaches for your shoulders while the other reaches for your hands, both with the end goal of making you lie back down.

as it turns out, xiao and kazuha have already been up a few minutes before you did but simply chose to cuddle each other and waited for you to wake up. kazuha's red cheeks was due to xiao pinching it when he told a pick-up line he had probably read from his books.

cranky from being the victim of their loving prank and from waking up with the sun's blinding rays by your eyes, you asked for payback from them in the form of affection, kisses and hugs that will be granted to you as much as you ask, and for you to decide what food delivery will all of you eat for lunch.
