Today was too much. You felt stretched too thin at work with everything you decided you had to complete before you could enjoy your weekend. And then your friends decided to invite you out to dinner which you couldn’t say no to because you were dying to see them. And after having a great time catching up and arriving back home, you wanted to crash after taking almost two steps into your house.

You had moved in with your boyfriend San and started to add little pieces of you all over. From adding a toothbrush to the bathroom or making sure a candle was lit to make it smell like things were constantly baking. And you had to admit, you had stolen most of San’s clothes so why not spray your perfume on them to make them smell like you as a nice little surprise.

Walking into your room, you kicked off your shoes that were killing your feet all evening and hung up your jacket so it wouldn't get wrinkles. Your hands fumbled around your wrists to take off your bracelets and then took off your earrings but for some reason, you had a hard time taking off your necklace.

Through the frustrated noises you were making, you heard footsteps behind you and a deep, soothing voice whisper in your ear, “Having trouble Princess?" And San wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you against his chest, making instant goosebumps rise on your skin.

“No, i just can’t get this stupid- yes I need help.” Frustrated with the clasp, you stopped meddling with your necklace and pulled your hair off of your neck so San could help you. What felt like twenty minutes of you trying to pry the clasp open only took two seconds for San to do in record timing, almost annoying you but making you more grateful than anything.

“Is that better Princess?” San asked turning you around to cup your face in his hands while your head relaxed into his embrace to show how drained you were.

“Much.” You mumbled, almost too tired to say anything and avoid collapsing right then and there. San had noticed how you had walked into the door and not said anything, which wasn't like you, and knew how tired you were but he loved it when he could prove to you, the person who spends their time dedicated to helping others, that he could properly take care of you.

San had bent down to place his hands to carry you bridal style and placed you carefully on your shared bed. He turned around to go get a washcloth to wipe your face clean of any makeup you had on and when he returned to you, he watched your eyes open and close every few seconds, clearly moments away from drifting off to sleep. He sat down on the bed and you turned onto your side to face him, holding out your arms and using your grabby hands to try and make him cuddle with you.

“Not yet baby, just give me one second to let me clean any makeup off of your face.” He said and gently ran the warm washcloth over your eyelids, eyelashes, and cheeks a couple times to make sure no trace was left behind. He threw the washcloth in the laundry hamper and crawled into bed with you and you immediately wrapped yourself around him. You were out almost immediately, finally relieved that you could rest and stop fighting your fatigue. San kissed your forehead and gently whispered to you, “Sweet dreams my princess” as the two of you drifted off to blissful rest as one.

these past weeks, you two were lucky if you were able to talk on the phone for a few minutes before bed, usually only exchanging good morning and night texts with a few selfies thrown in that made each other’s chest tighten. 

but he called you just yesterday, telling you they were coming back a day early with a week’s vacation; you all but squealed in joy over the phone, his and seven other laughs ringing through the speaker at your excitement.

the door rattles in front of you and you perk up even more, anxiously awaiting for it to open until at last, you see seonghwa’s tall figure standing in the doorway; he’s smiling down at you and you could burst into tears on the spot.
