You know part of the reason I’m annoyed by the whole EDM Dynamite fiasco is that Awake was what really tipped me into being an Army. Yes, I have limitless love for all the other members and lots of their songs but Awake was what made me decide I was an Army.
I hardly ever cry when it comes to songs but Awake? It just... broke me. I related too hard, not just to the song, but to Jin. I didn’t even cry when I heard the song, I just sat there feeling broken while all my emotions from years ago rushed back to me, but when the song ended, you know what I did?
I replayed it.
Because I felt understood. Because I felt like there was hope, that I could fly, that someone like me was out there.
