you have to let yourself be a weird woman or you will not survive
Im so mad at the pjo for… existing tbh. The movies did not destroy the chances for a good faithful adaptation to be made one day, but the Disney show did. Disney had a good budget, great actors, and most importantly, an already established fanbase. A fanbase so loyal to Rick, that they refuse to admit that the show is JUST NOT GOOD. But again they are so loyal to it simply bc Rick’s association an approval is attached to it. I think the fandom would be more critical of it if Rick’s name was removed. And now even if another studio or company were to pick up the story, it would simply be dismissed by the fandom. Even if it was more loyal and true adaptation to the books. So tragic tbh.
the thing about annabeth is that if you just don't like her personality it's fine. if you just don't vibe with her it's literally fine. no one is valid for coming at you if you just say "tbh she just annoys me" because everyone has pet peeves and personality types that they find grating and honestly people are way too sensitive on here about people making benign comments like "I don't like X character/ship" when it like doesn't affect them at all
but I am confused by how annabeth haters always seem to cling to the strangest events/actions in her life as objectively logical, justifiable reasons to hate on her like specifically the scene in tartarus with her and percy and akhlys? what do you mean you hold disdain towards a child for not having a perfectly sane and pleasant reaction to an extremely traumatic life or death situation? like do you Hear yourself. you sound like a parent who yells at their kid for crying. it's wild
she obviously loves percy and would die for him as evidenced in canon countless times and the feeling is mutual, so the twisting of that specific situation into some moral failing on her part or a crime against percy (as well as prioritizing percy's feelings and not allowing any validity to hers in the slightest) just tells me that these people have never been able to grasp the complexity of a morally ambiguous scene with a single degree of nuance or fairness in their lives and they should probably never attempt to read a book above middle schooler-grade level tbqh
this might be a hottake but I genuinely don’t think Percy was ever oblivious to his feelings for Annabeth, I think he was just oblivious to her feelings for HIM.
He knew he had a crush on her, he just never stated it directly, and he genuinely didn’t believe she could ever possibly like him back 💀
