Have You Read The Book Series Cradle At All? I Ask Because I Had A Strange Thought Regarding The Magic
Have you read the book series Cradle at all? I ask because I had a strange thought regarding the magic types of eggs vs dragons-- The main character of the series (at least as far as I've gotten) has a condition that made the magic in his body remain pure, as opposed to other people developing "proper" magic of certian elements.
If this were to happen to a dragon-- somehow keeping the untainted egg magic after hatching/into adulthood, would they be uh. A giant target?
I haven't, though reading about Lindon's soul condition definitely puts it on my 'to-read' list. I'm reading Wings of Fire at the moment as per recommendation, and always love getting book suggestions^^
Hmm...That's an interesting question. While Khoga knows about the raw elemental energies, she would still have to find a way to extract it from a living dragon(pretty difficult!). This means holding a dragon prisoner while on the run(also pretty difficult!). That would greatly risk their cover, but if there was reason to believe this 'raw magic' dragon could provide infinite raw energy, Khoga would pitch the idea to capture them.
Matthias wouldn't like the idea one bit, though. Funnily enough, he'd actually feel threatened to the point of jealousy!
Awesome question, and thank you for bringing Cradle to my attention!

Hey, so Riot's ability works by dragging up bad memories from someone's past and then magnifying the reaction, sending the victim into a blind rage. It can be resisted or shrugged off completely if someone has just. Made peace with all their bad memories or if someone just has great control over their emotions.
Who would be most affected?? And who would be least affected??

Most of them would be overcome with emotion. Khoga and Matthias, though, would be my best bet for holding it together.

Character Portrait for the Webcomic! I thought a series of these would look cool at the beginning of the chapter, sort of a character index type deal. ^^ What do you guys think?
Guess who's back with another infected with the egg eating bug? Shroud is apparently very convincing as he got his bestie, who's a normal SD, to monch eggs. Said bestie is named Striver. The two work together to feed their lord's power, with Shroud terrorizing sleeping parents, then Striver brining those nightmares to life.
It's not obvious in this picture, but he has glow eyes. I'm not sure what kind of powers he got from the egg monching, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Sorry for the delay, I've been spending time with my Mom, as she's been teaching me how to cook all her wonderful recipes. Been a bit preoccupied with cherry turnovers, onigiri, and enchiladas!
I read the short story in Striver's bio, and have to say it was riveting! How you incorporated the taste of the nature eggs was a fun callback to the flavor post! There's also a line in there that's food for thought. It's about losing 'humanity'. Do dragons have 'humanity' in the form that us humans do, or are there key differences? I always assumed that dragons were simply 'more' than humans, physically, mentally, and spiritually, so does that mean they are complex in ways we could never hope to be? Idk, but it's certainly something to chew on!
Striver is also extremely beautiful in his design and color! His blue-purple-red palette is broken up by his skin/ outfit in a way that makes him seem ornate. Also his glowy eyes are pretty neat^^
Unlike those that are drawn to egg eating by their own selfish desires, those that are tricked or goaded into egg eating are also victims themselves(though still not absolved of wrongdoing!). I wish him redemption, and reprieve from shroud's evil influence. Awesome submission!
Hello !! It's me again, so I sent in my boy Davinci a while ago, and I thought a bit. Since he has these glowing medusa/cuttlefish(?) like spots along his wings, i kinda imagined them a side effect of his egg eating, is that possible in your lore? I never figured out any side effect but those spots are actually good for partial, short time periosd hypnotising even a dragon depending which. But I just wish to hear your opinion on and.. um a little tip what side effect would it have(the withdrawal I mean) (Also merry (late) Christmas! I hope you had a pleasent time):]
TW: mention of Withdrawals/phobias ahead
Davinci, I remember him. A beautiful dragon who looked a bit like a jellyfish ^^ The range of possible effects is infinitely vast, so bioluminescent spots can easily be one of them. Absolutely a possibility! Now for the harder question...
Hmm, the effects would depend on why Davinci has withdrawals in the first place, or if it even makes sense for Davinci to develop them.
Okira's withdrawals are, like the rest of his powers, linked to his character. Every power is representative, from his mane, to his regeneration, to his withdrawals. In short:
He feels guilty: black mane grows as a personal, visual reminder of this.
He feels undeserving of reprieve: immortality denies him the escape of death.
He feels powerless and dependent on someone horrible: withdrawals rob him of control and render him powerless and dependent on something horrible(eggs) to keep them at bay.
It's these feelings specifically that guided the decision to give Okira his magical withdrawals, which serve as both a mode of self-punishment, and a physical representation of his character's suffering.
DAVINCI THOUGHTS

Upon re-reading Davinci's story, my first instinct is to point out the theme of Secrecy and Communication. Bioluminescence is a form of communication in many animals, so giving Davinci mastery over spots that he can darken and illuminate at will, with the power to hypnotize is a wonderful way of representing his covert and secretive nature. He does not communicate his true intentions to his family, and the few times he does divulge it it is done so selectively. Like a jelly fish going dark when predators are near, or glowing vibrantly to throw off others of its kind.
I don't believe withdrawals would be appropriate in Davinci's case, as his motive is not hinged on powerlessness or dependence like Okira's. He does seem to fear harsh and clear truths, doing anything to avoid facing them( the death of his daughter being inevitable due to the disease/chasing this 'magic cure' that will supposedly solve all his problems instead of facing them/ knowing his actions will cause his family to be ashamed of him and not owning up to that). Davinci seems to avoid the spotlight as if it would burn him, either running away or intentionally hiding himself and his misdeeds through silence, lies, and hypnotism.
In Davinci's case, I would give him a powerful phobia of anything bright and clear. Direct sunlight, bodies of clear water, reflective surfaces, anything that could be representative of clarity and truth. To such a secretive character, this would make the perfect side-effect that both points out his fearfulness of facing his own harsh truths, as well as his affinity for deception/miscommunication.
This is all just my personal take on him as I've only read his previous submission, but even by just that I can tell you'll come up with something really cool! I hope I did your boy justice! ^^
Hahahahaha... Nah, Striver is forever bound to his fae overlord, so he's forever stuck doing things like this. This is why you don't make deals with the good neighbours, you usually get screwed. Shroud is just your standard unseelie, so yeah, generally a maliciously mischievous being. They really were just doing their jobs there though, so for Striver I figured his powers would come from a sense of reluctant duty? As for the Humanity comment, I figured they were like us humans, just able to have more life experiences as they live for a long time. I mostly used that word because dragonity didn't feel quite right. It also didn't sound or look good so I just went with humanity. I still don't know what I'm doing with his powers here though... Suggestions are welcome ngl.

Hmm well, reluctant duty...Personally I think of dark knights, like the ones employed by evil sorcerers in high fantasy. Not to mention that Striver brings nightmares to life.
So (just spitballin) perhaps Striver's touch gains a property that allows him to transform household objects into the stuff of nightmares temporarily? Perhaps it is ingrained in his scales, which he can crush into powder and blow into the faces of unsuspecting dragons. It's reminiscent of those middle-man assassins/thieves you can read about in books, while also keeping the nightmare theme.
Heck, I don't know if you can incorporate it, but you know those toads that push their knuckle bones out of their skin to make claws? Maybe something like that but with his skull mask, and a single scratch inflicts the nightmare effect.
There's really all sorts of powers he can have!
