How did Lurch find Enid? Was Enid traumatized by the hunters killing her family or she couldn't remember?

he was actually on a hunting trip to collect some exotic supernatural meat!

i'll probably expand more on it, but basically he was just at the right place at the right time with a little help

she was definitely traumatized by it, but she was so young her mind sort of blocked the actual events out of her memory.

though going into the woods frightens her to the very core and, for a long time after the adoption, she would cling to lurch in fear that it would be the last time she'd see him.

this, in turn, contributes into her not realizing she's a werewolf either.

instead of a late-bloomer, she has been subconsciously suppressing her wolf until it just became too much. like, even though she can't really remember or understand, her mind makes the connection that wolf equals danger for her

Know what would be cool? If the bad ending au had a happy ending!! Never let ur enemies guess ur next move!!

this is a before moment!

enid's battling her demons and trying to keep them to herself, but it's getting harder and harder

add to that, the emotional upheaval of seeing someone else marry the love of your life? they're really struggling

If there's one thing I learned

Leaning heavily on the bathroom counter, the blonde wolf took a shuddering breath

it's that people like me

Glancing at herself in the mirror, she saw as her eyes fought to remain their usual cerulean instead of burning scarlet

aren't made for happy lives

Scowling, Enid bared her sharpened canines at the face staring back at her

with happy endings.

And with a swing of her fist

There's no silver lining

Broke the mirror into pieces

or a light at the end of the tunnel.

Then, with a painted smile, watched the love of her life marry someone else

There never was.
