have y'all heard ron chernow speaking because sometimes he's talking about something hamilton did and he'll honest to god giggle it's crazy
You can always tell which dead person a historian wants to fuck
yes we can have historical accuracy or we can have the scene in george washington (1984) where washington shakes his soldiers' hands and embraces them- but gets to hamilton and ignores the offered hand to pull him into a tight hug with tears in his eyes.
so i don't know what you want from me.
btw the curly haired dude before hamilton is tench tilghman. my aides de camp.
chat which of the founding fathers is most likely to go "no homo hahahaha" constantly in modern day conversation
it's like i understand it but my brain has self preservation skills and has chosen to numb itself? so that the information slides off of the surface when i realize i watch shitty documentaries and read letters on a governmental archive "for fun".
I love it here but do you guys ever like. Realize you run a blog about the American Revolution.
let it be known that the man knew how to make an entrance.
seriously though, how frequently did this come up in conversation? knowing that a lot of elite men who didn't fight in the war had a complex because of it and there's a justified camaraderie between fellow veterans...
i bet that at least once washington/mchenry and hamilton giggled over this like "yo remember when we thought you died on a mission because british soldiers ambushed you? and you showed up during your own wake? good old days amiright" while jefferson and adams stood there, eyes twitching.
Another iconic Alexander Hamilton moment
Hamilton and his men finally dove from the boat into the swirling waters and swam to safety. Scarcely stopping for breath, Hamilton dashed off a message to John Hancock that urged the immediate evacuation of the Continental Congress from Philadelphia. Just before Hamilton returned to headquarters, Washington received a letter from Captain Lee announcing Hamilton's death in the Schulkill. There were tears of jubilation, as well as considerable laughter, when the sodden corpse himself sauntered through the door.
