kristen applebees rolled up in episode 1 full of confidence in her faith but specifically confidence in being good and helping people and she has not lost that for one single second. kristen applebees believes in always striving to be better at helping the people around her and she believes in it so much that she made a god that’s just about screaming YES into the sky and when that wasn’t exactly what she was looking for she kept believing in radical rebellious kindness so much that she reached out to a lost goddess and “she looks shocked that you are still seeking to understand her” and “i am 100% of her followers and i choose to believe that she’s good” and, i mean, holy fuck.

literally how hard would it have been for jkr to say something like “listen I was writing it in the 90s, I was inexperienced, I was writing from my own point of view, I didn’t realise how underrepresented a lot of people are, I wasn’t thinking about anything other than the plot, I accept that it’s a little sparse on the diversity front, I can try to be more self aware with my future works” etc etc instead of.. this nonsense
