“That doesn’t look right…there’s just something missing.”   Turning the camera angle, you snap a few more shots, looking for the perfect framing, but it just doesn’t happen.  Flustered, you blow your hair out of your eyes and sneak a peek at Yoongi who’s lying on the picnic blanket spread across the green grass.  His eyes are closed as he basks in the sunlight, while you’re frustrated without a picture.

It was supposed to be a day of relaxation away from the pressures of work and deadlines, but somehow you always managed to make it stressful.

“ What the hell are you talking about, Jungkook?” The couple looks shocked with your response, you turn to them and give them a deadly glare. “ Did Jimin dare you to do this? I’m gonna kill him after I kill you.” You take a sip from your own drink and grimace at the hot temperature.

Your brother Jinyoung sighed, “Look [Name], it’s not hard to help people. I don’t know why you’re so hesitant.” You rolled your eyes listening to Jinyoung’s lecture 

His lecture continued as you both walked to your aptitude test, “Are you even listening?” You looked up to your brother, “No, I’m not.” Jinyoung sighed and shook his head, “Whatever, I can never get anywhere with you, you’re so stubborn.” 

“Come on Jinyoung we’re already here.” You and Jinyoung both stood in line patiently waiting for your turn. You looked over at candor to see a young man walking towards your faction; abnegation.

“You know, are you abnegation really selfless? I just wanna know because, it’s your fault we’re all getting less food.” The young man got into the face of the group of friends that were in front of you. “Of course, we help out the factionless, we don’t keep the food for ourselves.” 

Youngmin as you know him didn’t meet the young man’s eyes. Youngmin is very shy and nonconfrontational but the young man decided to push Youngmin, who did nothing but answer his question. 

The young man was just looking for a fight, you stepped up to say something but felt a grip on your wrist. 

You meet Jinyoung’s eyes, “Don’t, we don’t get ourselves into situations where there is violence.” You wanted to bite your tongue but couldn’t help but say something to him. “We’re abnegation, right? Selfless, others before ourselves, right? That’s so stupid, why can’t I help Youngmin when he needs help?” 

Jinyoung looked you in the eyes, “Stop, no violence [Name] we-,” Jinyoung was cut off when loud cheering was heard. You turned to Youngmin for a second and could see the young man who was bothering being dragged away by his friend. 

You only take a small glance due to abnegation’s rules, the ones you grew up with. You turned back to see in awe as dauntless made an exciting entrance, staring is rude and against the rules but for right now you thought fuck it you have to continue staring at the faction that you always admired. 

They loudly cheered as they all jumped off of the train, some fell but got up and ran to get in a line. There was one person that caught your eye, he made a superhero pose after he jumped. 

He landed with his fist in the ground with one knee down and his other arm was raised behind him. His other knee was up it reminded you of ironman’s pose, a movie you saw before the war.

His smile was bright and he showed off his cute front teeth that looked big, you wondered why you couldn’t stop staring at him. He looked up and was met with your gaze.

He could feel his heartbeat pick up, his cheeks went flush and he quickly scrambled to stand up embarrassed you saw him being a nerd. When he saw you smile at him he completely lost it. “Jeon, you coming?!” 

Jungkook could barely hear his friend as he hyped himself up in his head, come on Jeon, you’re dauntless, you’re not afraid of anything. Yes, he is dauntless, he is fearless but for some reason when he saw you he wasn’t fearless. 

Your gaze made him feel something that he couldn’t pinpoint it made him feel shy and Jeon Jungkook is anything but shy, yeah Jungkook you got this nothing scares you.

The two of you just stared at each other for what seemed like forever until Jungkook’s feet actually started to work and he walked towards you. He took long confident strides, he held his head up high. 

You on the hand were surprised when he came over and looked down. Aw, she’s shy. Jungkook internally cooed at how cute you looked. When Jungkook was finally next to you, you thanked god Jinyoung’s friend wanted to show him something and took him away.

“Hi I’m Jeon Jungkook.” He looked so confident but on the inside he was freaking out, his palms were sweating and he swore his heart was going to leap out of his chest from how fast it was beating. 

All the fear and anxiety he had disappeared when you smiled at him and held out your hand for him to shake, “I’m Park [Name].” Jungkook had to wipe the sweat on his hands before touching your smaller one. 

Your skin was soft and it was much smaller than his, he thought about how small and innocent you are, he has to protect you. He’s dauntless so he has to be the brave one. 

Jungkook didn’t want to let go of your hand but reluctantly let go, he looked up to see your faction; abnegation. He looked back to you and gave you the sweetest smile, “I hope we see each other often.” 

And that’s how it started.
