A/N: Y’all, I’m not in love with this part. I’m sorry. I re-wrote this one 3 times, and am on my second re-write of Part 6. I feel like if I left these little fillers and bits of (what will become) backstory out it was going to be too big of a jump between major plot points, but damnit I just can’t seem to fill the gap nicely.

You’re not sure how long you and Poe just sat there, but when your alarm goes off to let you know it’s time to head back to base you’d swear it had only been an hour since he showed up.

The beeping startles him, and you have to suppress a small smile as he jumps a bit, confusion all over his face.

“Sorry about that,” you murmur as you quickly silence the alarm on your datapad. Something about being in this place with him makes it feel as though anything louder than a whisper is unwelcome. “I need to start heading back to base… I have friends who will worry if I’m gone any longer than I already have been.”

He smiles, and tilts his head. “Jess?”

“Hmm, yep,” you confirm as you busy yourself with putting your things back in your pack. Grabbing two ration bars, you offer him one as you sling the bag over your shoulder. “Breakfast?”

Sunday (Anti) Shipping (Black Panther Spoilers)

Rant under the link - really don’t want to accidentally spoil someone...

Can someone explain to me why people are shipping... 

...Shuri and Bucky? Anybody?

Shuri is SIXTEEN! 

Bucky is in the triple digits - “But he was frozen for awhile so it’s not that simple...”

Yes it is! Even when ignoring Bucky’s time on and off ice during the decades - Bucky was in his late 20s / early 30s when he fell from the train in The First Avenger. That’s right folks Bucky is roughly TWICE Shuri’s age!

The Star Wars fandom were utterly divided by the TEN year age difference between Rey and Ben Solo / Kylo Ren; however, Rey is nineteen in The Force Awakens and Kylo is twenty-nine. Maybe that’s just too large of a gap for some, but I’ll take it every day of the week rather than consider a close to fifteen year gap which leaves one of the two characters still underage!

I’ve seen Black Panther twice now in theaters, I don’t know what other folks are seeing when they say Bucky’s making eyes at Shuri. Maybe there are different cuts of the film and I just haven’t seen that one? The Shuri we know and love isn’t even herself in that scene, she’s subdued and in my opinion, comes off a little annoyed. Meanwhile, I think after being tortured by HYDRA for decades, followed by being haunted that a series of words, read in a certain pattern, could send him back into that tortured soul the last thing on Buck’s mind is a girl. 

It just feels like such a weird thing to focus on, there wasn’t a huge rush right after Steve awoke for fans to have him thinking with his little head, so why is it being applied to Bucky? 

I spent more than five years working on combatting child exploitation online. Everything from infants being abused up to tweens falling for fake Justin Bieber  and beyond (I also worked “sextortion” and seen grown adults fall into a predator’s trap). Am I letting my views from my experiences impact my view? Damn right I am. It’s a dishonor to both Bucky and Shuri - marking him as a predator and Shuri needing a love interest instead of being able to rock her genius self and impact the entire world. 

I could not be happier that Dad!Poe has become a thing ❤️❤️

While chatting with @kllmongrs​ about some ideas I posed the question that has been rattling around in my brain recently. What would Poe Dameron do if he found out his SO didn’t want children?

I’ve only ever seen Poe depicted as “that family guy”, thinking about raising his kids on Yavin IV and teaching them to fly like his mom taught him. So, I said that if the question were to act as muse food, Ella could happily use it - even the answer was up for grabs. Would Poe freak out a bit and know this was the end? Would he think ‘oh thank the Maker...’?

I am happy to say I got my answer today (and there is nothing crappy about your writing Ella!). It was a hard read only in the sense that I’ve been there, I’ve had that conversation with a guy who claimed to love me - and our conversation went over about as well as a MMA fight between a 275 lbs prime fighter and a 98 lbs freshman.

The door to their chamber slams closed harshly as Poe is practically stepping on (Y/N)’s toes, adamant to getting the answer he wants. (Y/N) wipes her face with her hands exhaustedly as she realizes there is no way her boyfriend is going to let this argument die easily, BB8 humming worriedly besides her as she pulls at her hair in exasperation. Poe fails to see the warning radiating from her posture and keeps on pushing, placing himself in front of her as the discussion continues.

“Why can’t we talk about this?” he presses, watching (Y/N)’s every move as if he could find an answer there. (Y/N) refuses to give herself up that easily.

“Because there’s nothing to talk about, Poe.” (Y/N) shoots back, glaring up at her boyfriend when she stands up but he blocks her way anywhere, unable to escape the conversation she’s been dreading to have ever since they got together. “You’re making a big deal out of nothing.”
