Obi-Wan and the Light

Mortis is one of those arcs that has an intended meaning and then what others take from it. For instance Obi-Wan being there completely muddied the idea of Anakin being "The Father" equivalent due to being the Chosen One, and maybe I'll get into all the times the Father's and Son mirrored Obi-Wan and Anakin, in another post.

Anyway, I noticed another thing, that Obi-Wan is the only one not touched by the darkness.

For instance, The Daughter gets very angry when Anakin tries to touch her.

She literally tells him to "Not touch her."

However she is fine with not only touching Obi-Wan, but him touching her.

The Son never touchs Obi-Wan physically like he does Ahsoka.

Never tries to corrupt him. And only openly attacks him when he has Anakin's loyalty. When Anakin has turned to the Dark Side.

Thus making th Son stronger because of the now out of Balance planet.

In fact the Daughter entrusts him with the Dagger, (as was pointed out to me) that could kill her family.

Why? What's the point? Its that Obi-Wan is so firmly entrenched in the Light that the Darkness can literally not touch him. Its something I think, intentionally or unintentionally, this Arc shows. The Dark can hurt him, as shown by The Son attacking him, but it cannot beat him. It cannot corrupt him.

Ahsoka is corrupted because she has the doubts and fears Anakin instilled in her. Which started from the second he told her he didn't want a padawan. Then continued every time he undermined the Council, killed someone he shouldn't, etc. She literally gets warned about this by her own future self.

Who proceeds to burn on front of her just as Anakin ends up being burned. She is the only one whose vision in this part is relayed by the future. Obi-Wan is warned by Qui-Gon (his past, who he grows beyond) and Anakin by Shmi (the attachment that he couldn't get over, and therefore started his jump into the Dark Side.)

Obi-Wan is of the Light. Its why him ever going Dark is so unthinkable. And why we will probably never and shouldn't see a canonical Dark Version of him, (though another post I'd love to make is how Maul is his Sith Foil).
