I think Wu would definitely try to work things with his students

Oh he absolutely tries. He's not going to get too far, because those six have each other's back tighter than anything and they're sick of the city's crap, but he might be able to get them to tone it down on the world domination thing a little.

They still rule the city though, at least, and maybe a few surrounding islands / continents (hc that the other realms are continents in the movie!verse, like Djinnjago and the Never Realm and the Cloud Kingdom and whatnot)

Don’t know if there’s any specific types or not / if they have to be character-centric, but I just searched through my bookmarks for some favourites one-shots & short fics (maybe I’ll make another post with longer fic recommendations if people want)

“Cold Hands, Warm Heart”, one-shot, 12,006 words -- Zane-focus, fluffy squad snowball fight

“Let’s Dye This World”, one-shot, 4,101 words -- Lloyd dyes his hair and his sister is firmly on his side

 “*Wu voice* "Ah, gotta get my kids."”, (7 chapters, completed) 4,850 words, has an unfinished aftermath sequel -- a cool “overwhelmed with power” scenario where Wu takes care of each of his students after all their elemental powers go haywire - also comes with this cool animatic 

“The Venomari Venom Incident”, one-shot, 10,012 words -- SPBNR-inspired work (which is a longer but amazing fic) ft. show Kai in the movieverse getting hit by venomari venom at school before a Garmalarm. Hilariously crack-y

“powersurge”, (6 chapters, completed) 9,488 words -- another interesting take on moments with large bursts of elemental power

“And the Vocab Word of the Day Is...” , one-shot, 2,547 words -- a young Lloyd teaches an innocent Zane to swear, absolutely hilarious

“For When You Need Love” , one-shot, 7,605 words -- so much platonic found family kisses, very sweet

“Home Is Where You Are” , one-shot, 3,937 words -- movieverse Morro taking care of his younger cousin

“When your love rival is a frog” , (3 chapters, completed), 17,630 words -- movie plasma, the funniest ship fic I’ve ever read in which Kai loses to a frog

“Oh, haven’t you heard?” , one-shot, 1,775 words -- alternative movieverse Lloyd where nobody knows a child of Garmadon exists and a Buzzfeed Unsolved conspiracy is set

“Habits of Home(lessness)” , (6 chapters, completed), 6,823 words -- 5-times the squad worry Jay with their survival skills/habits and one time he got it explained

“Cool Down” , one-shot, 4,741 words -- Zane gives Kai hugs to cool down from elemental power overloads

“Observational Astronomy”, one-shot, 2,495 words -- Soulmate (platonic, family) identifying marks in the shape of a constellation tattoo on your chest

No, you know what- I’m going to go back and count how many times (in the official minifigures, at least) Zane has at least one tit out

Have a bonus Echo continuing the nindroid trend before we start-

The Zanes will be under the cut because there are many, plus minor Crystalized (only the gi) spoiler. For those that wish to avoid that- the answer is (within the official minifigures, not counting additional designs in the magazines, comics, show, and other sources that don’t have figures), Zane has had at least one tit showing a total of 9 times (if you include NRG and Airjitzu has half a point each and don’t count Fusion - if you count none, then 8 times, if you count all as a point each, then 11 times)

0.5 = Gonna count this one as a half because none of them appear to have a gi at all, but you could argue it’s over their cloths

1.5 = One of the first times ever (probably first in canon), we stan a King

2.5 = Back from the dead and he already has one tit out

3 = Same as with NRG, going to count this as half a point because you can argue it’s over the clothes but also argue that’s his skin

4 = Zane was actually locked up in Skybound for titty crimes

Not counting this one but it deserves an honourable mention

5 = The infamous Island tit-out from the original post reference

6 = And you thought the Legacy waves wouldn’t sneak one in- the tit always manages to sneak out

7 = The infamous reverse crop top scuba gear

8 = the Core waves manage to sneak in a tit window after all

There’s the full squad drawing, it took me ages but I’m actually pretty proud of it :D

Mint / Green / Lloyd is very pissed that his mom got hurt in a Garmalarm and nobody helped her so he finally snapped, went through accidental dragon puberty, and took out his dad and lost his arm in the process because prosthetic arm movie!lloyd is a jam of a hc

Cyanide / Cyan / Nya is using Koko’s Lady Irondragon armour and is part of the muscle keeping them in power (they took over the volcano as their own base and then took control of Ninjago City with ease)

Sanguine / Red / Kai lost his eye fully after getting attacked by three teens (the movie!versions of Archer, Bansha, and Ghoultar) when he was younger, he’s the team’s seer instead of Zane and has super strong vision powers (he can see all possible timeline options and help push his team on the best path)

Ivory / White / Zane lost part of his synthetic skin and has gone full “if people want to see AI as evil then so be it” (though he still has some robot insecurities), going full Snake Jaguar

Stygian / Black / Cole is still the anchor of the team though he talks even less than before in public, going more for the “dangerous strong silent bodyguard” look (still as snarky as ever when he’s alone with this team, much more chill)

Midnight / Blue / Jay went down hard during a crash after slamming the Green Dragon Mech out of the way of a canon-laser shot (hence the Ming-Hua from Korro inspired design harnessing lightning), usually sticks with one of his teammates when in public, automatically causes electrical interference for anyone and anything not on his team

And yeah basically it’s just six traumatized teens that finally snapped and went evil (though they’re pretty good rulers of the city and are seeing if they can extend their rule across the world)

Ninjago Season 1: Episode 4: Never Trust a Snake

White has a dream where funky birb tells him to “WAKE UP, ZANE.” White follows birb’s advice and wakes up. Everything still feels inception-y and when he’s on the deck Lord G, the man, the myth, the legend shows up and demands the ice triangles and other golden plot devices. White says no. Lord G slam dunks him in a trash can.

Green Ninja ex machina appears to save him, posing dramatically with the birb.

“Who are you?” White wonders.

He never finds out because birbs flood the deck.

White wakes up for real but thinks he’s still in inception- a pillow to the face clears that up. The Fruity Bois train and do stretches on the deck with very awkward lego animation. Grumpy Old Man asks them a riddle because he is a sphinx now. They must answer the riddle, but fail miserably because they all role nat 1 on Wisdom and are more focused on who will be the Green Ninja

Meanwhile, GarmaGremlin takes the Vampire Sneks across the snow to fight the Hypno Sneks. Turns out Vampire Snek leader and Hypno Snek are total dude bros / speed run enemies to lovers and the war is called off. GarmaGremlin runs off with no allies.

He wanders the desert because this kid can just travel huge distances in short time and finds a tomb. Only one snek is inside. Very casually implied cannibalism in a kid’s show. Friendship with Hypno Snek and Vampire Snek over, now Pythor P. Chumsworth is his new best friend / henchman.

They steal candy from triplets and other very evil deeds. GarmaGremlin trauma dumps on Pythor P. Chumsworth and says he was kicked out of bad boi school because he’s a not-bad-sad-boi. Pythor P. Chumsworth suggests revenge even though we are several seasons away from a snake that wants revenge.

Grumpy Old Man still does not have an answer to his cryptic riddle. The Fruity Bois go to stop GarmaGremlin and Pythor P. Chumsworth at bad boi school. They break through the roof on an anchor and find kidnapped bad bois at the bottom, then race up. Blue takes the elevator. Black climbs the chains. Blue takes the elevator. Red and White take the stairs and get slimed. Blue takes the elevator.

Did I mention Blue takes the elevator.

Pythor P. Chumsworth is confronted by Blue, because the elevator was actually the one choice they didn’t expect, grabs the map, snitches on the kid, and dips. Blue kidnapps GarmaGremlin.

GarmaGremlin, being Grumpy Old Man’s nephew, gets read a bedtime story. Riddle is finally solved. GarmaGremlin is now GarmaLesserGremlin.

Okay Ninjago fandom, let’s see if we can play a game.

I’m going to briefly summarise the plot of of the first pilot episode in a comedic way, and the next person must do the same for the next episode. Local independent business owner, Kai, gets heckled by an old man and then biker skeletons show up and kidnap Kai’s sister for no reason. The old man tells Kai that the skeletons work for his evil brother who he pushed into a hole once, and then he promises to teach Kai the art of spinning real fast. However Kai only learns the art of spilling the tea. Then Kai gets attacked by ninja and must fight them with his toothbrush!
