Hi anon! Hmm that’s quite subjective I think, everyone experiences fic differently and RoA has a very distinct vibe/atmosphere. To be honest idk if I can rec anything similar. But I’m curious to hear others’ thoughts on this and see if they can share any recs!

One of my favorite things about writing Sirius is how he tries So Hard to not appear to be wizarding aristocracy in his outward presentation of self.

But it shows in his tone of voice, his vocabulary, his enunciation, his body language, his way of moving through the world. The self, its class, its race, its gender, its sexuality are reflected in more than just clothing choices and body size, and those presentations of the self and the self’s reactions to its perception by others don’t always come through in fics.

He’s an angry, aloof, confused, flamboyant piece of performance art jammed between two different social worlds and his partners find him endlessly fascinating in his eccentricity.

I love this reflexivity so, so much.
