Tommy Should Be Exiled For Three Reasons
Tommy should be exiled for three reasons
1) He messed up, he needs to be punished, Tubbo asked for one thing and he messed up. He was in the clear.
2) The Theseus parallels. Let’s not forget Technos amazing speech shall we? How Tommy is Theseus? How Theseus was exiled? Guys imagine the plot, the angst. Also he could go be with Techno idk but PLEASE
3) What other choice do they have? Legitimately, yeah they can take exile, but then what? Dream isn’t an idiot, and he’s certainly powerful, I just don’t see it ending well

tubbo did absolutely nothing wrong: an essay
ok so during the original exile stream (especially tommy's), the chat was first very hyped about tommy's idea of going to war, temporarily forming an alliance with the Blade. and when he got exiled by tubbo, the chat was so furious that some even went "cancel tubbo the traitor".
while i do understand some of the chat's reactions were only in response to the storyline, i still wanna discuss about tubbo's position here.
it's almost if he's the villain here, even on twitter he tweeted "i'm not the villain" or smth like that, albeit an extension of his character outside of the game.
but people who genuinely think him to be a traitor fail to understand that, as a political representative of the state of l'manberg, it would be so incredily irresponsible and stupid to prioritize tommy over l'manberg. under the threat of a man who had enough resources and allies to gather up 8 stacks of obsidion to surround your country, how would it be a wise move to retalliate against him and gO tO wAr when everything in your country was at stake?
if we explore the war option, we could see just how naive and idealistic it is. in terms of firepower and military stregth, no offence to any l'manbergians, they dont have shit. the president doesn't even have armor. yes they could summon the Blade, but why exactly would the Blade help a government only to make another enemy, arguably the most powerful one on the server, may I ask?
tommy's "let's go to war" is nothing but further proof that he is too immature and cocky to be in a position such as the vp of l'manberg. he has no strategy, no good plan to either l'manberg's agenda, or his own disc agenda. if he wanted to succeed in getting his discs back, he needed a good and viable plan to restle with the green man, and play his mindgames, without real attachments to anyone or anything (or at least dont show them) much like the green man himself.
tubbo, was simply being a just, mature, rational president. unlike tommy, he learned to think of the big picture. i'd dare to argue that exiling tommy hurt him as much as it did tommy. it was unfair to compare him with JSchlatt, the reasons being clear enough for anyone to see: 1. tommy and wilbur's exile under schlatt was due to schlatt's wish to rid of his political opponents, an act of dictatorship and tyranny---limiting free speech and therefore any democracy. 2. tommy's exile under tubbo was due to tommy's own doing---burning down george's house. it was a mere consequence of his own action, though implemented with malice on dream's side. however, if tommy hadn't continue to aggrevate dream by being plain stupid, exilation was the outcome that could have been so easily avoided, thanks to tubbo's exellent negotiation with dream prior to tommy's mistake.
in essence, tubbo is one of the best l'manberg president as of yet, though that's not saying much. but this has clearly taken a toll on the character's emotional well-being. i wish he could grow his country steadily and quietly, gear up, get good, and one day fight back against that green man. but today's clearly not the day.
people are really shaming tubbo apologists on twt rn
tubbo’s just a kid left to run an entire nation where everyone he allowed into the cabinet constantly undermines, ignores, laughs at, or reprimands his every decision. tubbo is just a kid who was pulled into a high position of authority with no help, no pointers and no guide.
all tubbo ever wanted was peace. he never wanted wars or conflict or exile. he wanted new l’manberg to be their new beginning. he wanted to be able to run the nation alongside his best friends and create a place that would bring honor to wilbur’s name and bring happiness to its residents.
but in an instant his cabinet mates are willing to turn on him, to yell and scream and lecture and question his authority. no one respects tubbo because he’s a kid, a kid who just wants to live a normal life with tommy, his best friend, but can’t because tommy needs to get back his discs, and will do whatever it takes to do so. even tarnish the name of new l’manberg forever just to get a chance at holding them as his own once more.
and now tubbo’s painted as the bad guy, the “new jschlatt” all because he’s a misguided child who has strong morals and goals but can never be taken seriously because everyone thinks he’s incapable of getting the job done right.
he exiled tommy because he knew that they couldn’t win against dream. even if they got techno involved, dream and techno together could manage to burn l’manberg to the ground. techno still can’t be trusted, and dream is too strong for them to fight. tubbo knew that exiling tommy was the only way to ensure l’manberg’s safety as well as tommy’s. but as with every decision tubbo makes, he gets reprimanded and shamed and shouted at.
so yes, i’m a tubbo apologist because he’s a fucking sixteen year old running a country with no prior knowledge of how to do that, no aid or help in figuring out the ins and outs of being a president. he still cares about tommy, of course, he couldn’t just stop caring about his best fucking friend.
but i’m also a tommy apologist, which people seem to advocate for more, probably because tommy is supposed to be our protagonist, the one whose always fighting for the right cause, no matter how insane it might seem.
tommy is a child too, a child brought up during war times, raised with the idea that anything is okay during war, murder, arson, robbery. he was raised in anarchy.
tommy’s fought so many battles and yet he’s still so young. he knows the horrors of war as much as some of the oldest members of the server. he’s seen it all, literally.
tommy watched his older brother die at the hands of his father. he had his own eldest brother turn on him and threaten to kill him for being a hero. he’s had his best friend exile him with little (shown) remorse. he’s forced to coexist with the ghost of his deceased brother who barely remembers the things he had done when he was alive.
through it all, tommy keeps fighting, because that’s all he’s ever known. he survived wars and betrayals and losses and victories. he flourishes in the chaos, and goes mad during the calm. that’s why he cannot bear the times after war, when new nations are supposed to bud and blossom and grow. because he’s only know destruction and conflict, so he makes up for it by griefing houses and public buildings, creating tension between nations and causing problems that his friends get tied into resolving.
he’s a sixteen year old boy, raised through war and tyranny. a sixteen year old boy who has been exiled twice, assumed a traitor by his best friend, mocked and punished and hurt by those he loves. tommy is a fucking child who just wants to be happy for once in his goddamn life, and he thoroughly believes this can be achieved by getting back his discs. so that’s all he wants, and will stop at nothing to win them back.
FUCK THE BUTCHER ARMY
ALL MY FRIENDS WANT THE DREAMON HUNTERS BACK
In Dream’s defense, if I had a wedding and AFTER the objections my best friend shouted “OBJECTION!!!!!” way too late, then gave me a chicken, pulled me behind a pillar and the kissed me…
I’d freak out too! My fight or flight instic would activate and I would just yeet myself out of this uncomfortable situation.
