Here's a headcanon I have for MC

I think they were going to die if the Astrolobe didn't yank them from Earth. Why do I think this? Felix is a necromancer why would his magic affect someone who doesn't have anything to do with death, all the other characters are in some way tied to death. Rime is dead and LoS is near death in every route. So why is MC different?
