wow why did you have to say this
Lamp shade lady and Moth girl (they’re dating)

In NATM 3, when the tablet acts up in the beginning scene, everyone is affected, including Jed and Oct. But when it acts up later in the movie, only Akh, Sac, Attila, Teddy, and Dex are shown to be affected…not Jed and Octavius. They just keep on doing their thing in Pompeii. They’re only shown to be affected again in the end scene. You know, when everyone’s dying and all.
Now, Akhmenrah’s father What’s-His-Name establishes that the reason why Lancelot isn’t affected is because it’s his first night awake. But that doesn’t explain Jed and Oct, especially since they were affected before. So what gives?
This is the way i see it:
1. (The boring but most realistic option) The writers just decided to skip Jed and Oct being affected in the middle of the movie because they didn’t have enough room/money for it (they ARE shown to be affected in the novelization, after all).
2. Jed and Octavius, possibly because of their size or the tablet registering them differently from the full-sized people, actually AREN’T affected by the tablet at all; that is, until the end end when they’re all dying. But Rando-On-The-Internet, you may ask, why then do they go buck wild in the beginning of the film?? The answer is simple my friend: they’re breeders of chaos. They saw everyone else throwing a jig, couldn’t really understand why, but decided to join in cause what the heck? It looks fun! And then we’ll totally play it off later and say we couldn’t control ourselves.
One thing i know for certain is that Jed and Octavius’ apology to Larry afterwards is one of THE fakest apologies i’ve ever heard.
Yesterday was a bad writing day. I spent a lot of time staring at a screen. Lots of Tumblr replies. Lots of Twitter (the Netflix Sandman trailer going out didn’t help). Lots of being grumpy at myself and convinced I couldn’t do it any more. The script was a mess. I was doomed. This morning I printed out what I had to fix, picked up a pen, made a few notes and started typing. It was fun and easy and straightforward. I finished it and sent it to the people who needed to see it, and just got an amazed call from our script editor saying she was laughing while crying and couldn’t work out how I’d done everything in a day.
And I hadn’t done it all in a day. All of the being miserable yesterday was necessary for it to fly today. All of the knowing it was insoluble and awful made the work today relatively easy. I had to get out of my own way, and had to read it freshly, without being attached to anything. And then I just did the notes. And to make the thing that worked today, a lot of stuff that didn’t quite work or sort of worked had to be written too. It’s always easier to fix stuff that exists.
Anyway. Yesterday = bad writing day. Today = good writing day. I thought it was worth telling people, in case there was anyone else out there who was having a bad writing day too.
