Being in Japan for about half a year now I realize ………. Food is my weakness. Sighing in my defeat as I take the last bite of my dumpling as I here “two please” come from my right. A chill “Hey Kiri” left my mouth as my cheeks filled with the pastry. “Oh! Did I tell you about the-” spacing out I thought of our time here, many good friends, good food, and beautiful scenery.

“Gorgeous isn’t it?” A shock went to the back of my neck. Gaining chills as the long hair I once had couldn’t cover it anymore. A hand flying to the area as I look at the flirty blond giving me a closed eyed lazy grin. “Hey Denki” “Why hello beautiful, why the long face?” Tilting my head in confusion “I thought my face was round 🤔”. A chuckle coming from his end as he elaborated “no I meant why do you look so sad. Today is a day of love and happiness”. Putting an arm around me in a side squeeze trying to cheer me up. “How am I gonna celebrate the day of love with no love?” My voice coming out more bitter than intended. Gaze turned to my bestie and her soon to be boyfriend. As much as I love her I wish they would get a room. The box nearly falling out of his pocket containing the promise ring he asked me to help design as he “sneakily” tried to put his arm around her.

“Ooooh I get it. You just need a date.……… Well what about me” my hands in his as he kissed the backs of them. “I-It doesn’t have to be romantic if you don’t want it to be.” Seeing the sweat on his forehead as he scratched the back of his head nervously. “It’s ok we be lonely buddies together ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)”. I concluded giving a dry laugh at our expense. Going to different booths and trying different food and games witch I mostly won and ended up giving most of the gifts to Denki. On our third game I started to feel …… funny as if I was being watched. Yet every time I looked around I saw nothing but happy couples. And Chowa accidentally dodging a kiss from Kiri by patting a wild cat but that was just me XD.

“I- I had a good day today Kita but if I’m being honest I wanted it to be a real da- ” as the cherry blossoms fell around us my gaze turned from her to the bright colors in the sky accompanied by loud explosions which cut off my sentence. My hands now cold as her warmth suddenly left them. Noticing her absence I turned to where she used to be and set off to find her in haste.

The cold wall that my body resided against was unsettling and uncomfortable as I come face to face with the person I’ve been avoiding for the whole night. “You know this could look bad right? You boxing a girl against a wall when you have a girlfriend- ” “Had” his brash voice came out in a forced whisper as to not draw to much attention. “We broke up 2 weeks ago. But that’s not the point- w-why him? You pick the idiot over me?” “Oh so you expected me to wait for you? You were happy with your little bitch and left me with my proposal looking stupid in front of all our friends. It took me so long to stop crying whenever your name was even brought up.
