Now that I’ve given a bio for each girl I feel less depressed about my older screenshots of their household. Gonna dump ‘em here so that I can delete them finally.

I saw the prettiest mom on the bus today. I couldn’t stop staring at her (discreetly) and imagining how beautiful a mom sim modelled after her would look😭is that weird? I just really appreciated how interesting she looked. Like someone with a great story to her.

Why did nobody tell me about the inexplicable joy and relief of finding out what was causing your game to misbehave?? 😭 because you guys, I finally figured out which cc had been messing with my game.

It was causing my sims (playables, townies) to lose autonomy on community lots and the plumbob of the selected sim to flicker.

Sadly it’s a collection of conversions that I really liked and even made a build-with-me video with 😔 I guess my version of the sims (super collection) is not as compatible with it as UC. Just in case another SC player runs into this issue I’ll have to mention that it’s the Party Essentials conversion by the lovely tvickiesims. I wanted so badly to have it in my game but I may have missed something in the fine print about how it may not agree with my system, or maybe nobody anticipated that it would do that. I heard that some conversions just don’t agree with MacOs, it’s not anyone’s fault.

Oh well, now I know. I’m just glad I can get back to playing because it was driving me crazy😩

Had a great time playing Sims today (spent 3 and a half hours searching for and downloading custom content and never once turned on the game)

Ladies and gentlemen, sparks are flying. 💕

In my initial post about the rural build I mentioned that we keep our traditional rural homes as a way to preserve and honour our roots as Zimbabweans.

I wanted to keep that same idea in my gameplay.

So in ancient Zimbabwean culture, a family would grow and expand into their own community/legacy on one compound. The idea was that we would operate as a small tribe because everyone stayed connected. As the times have changed it’s not common to have these huge legacies staying in the same place anymore, especially since most folk now live in the city. But the sentiment is still apparent.

What happens nowadays is that when a person gets old they tend to want to go back to their ancestral home and live out the rest of their days there. They prefer this to being put in nursing homes because they prefer to keep their liberties as home owners, though without feeling like they’re getting in their younger children’s way.

Their children and grandchildren can then come to visit them there for the holidays.

I’m gonna implement a similar system in my game (for this particular hood) and have it be a vacation location because it’s supposed to be completely separate from their normal everyday lives. I like it because it feels familiar to how myself and many other Zimbabweans grew up.

It’s the perfect device to aid legacy gameplay too, because when the grandparent sims pass on I can have their elderly child move there too and so on. And eventually I plan to build other similar lots in the same area so that different families can have their own compound and that will create more gameplay opportunities too.

It’s a big project and quite ambitious. Idk how long I’ll keep at it, but for now I’m really into it so I’m doing as much as I can.
