魔道祖师 • 完结篇 | 预告 Trailer 2
to all the people talking about Luca and saying that "omg they are children" "don't bring children into this" "everything doesn't have to be gay or about a minority" okay but, don't complain when I call you homophobic. because you are. LGBT+ people are not monsters, yes these are children , of course they shouldn't have sex for god sake but if that's all you can think about when we say someone is gay, you are the sick one.
I know that if someone said "Luca and Giulia are so cute together" nobody would have said a thing because of course, they are an heterosexual couple, if you think about them having sex you are sick, right?
because cishet children can have crushes. because cishet people can be 13 and take each other's hands, what's wrong with that? because cishet children can be 13 and share a kiss, they are so cute, they'll be married someday!
you know LGBT+ children exist all over the world? that when you were crushing over that girl with blonde hair in elementary school they liked that one boy with glasses? why can't we have that? is that so hard? because love is not only about sex, or kinks, or whatever. we should be allowed to be seen as young, free, full of life and in love.
if you don't see yourself in Luca and Alberto, even if you don't like them, or you see them as platonic, that's okay, everyone has their own experience, but don't even try to tell me that I shouldn't bring my "gay agenda" into this because they are kids. vaffanculo.
also, it's totally okay to watch the movie and see yourself and your struggles and enjoy it, but don't even try to tell a minority to not bring their own struggles into this, because if you are not a part of it, you will never understand.

Tom Hiddleston for Entertainment Weekly
This might be unpopular but i actually think that it doesnt matter that the creator said that there was nothing gay about luca. the funny thing about that movie is that it didnt feel like queetbaiting and i dont think it actually needs solid confirmation. because it was all there. its all in the text and and i think the amount of allegory they used and the connections you can make to a queer experience is literally so much. this movie felt queer coded, and it also felt like innocent love and it was shown. i dont need there to be confirmation because its already so glaring obvious what it is, its not unclear or debatatable.
The queercoding is enough to imply a relationship to any idiot and there is nothing in the movie that tries to stop that (u know by not forcing the het on it). you can interpret it as queer and be absolutely correct. because art isnt defined by the creators intention but by what it is. we all know from jk rowling that it doesnt matter what the creator says but whats actually written (jk rowling saying dumbleore is gay doesnt actually make him cannonically gay because it is not written) so the creator denying it doesnt actually change whats there (because oopsie there is absolutely no hetero explanation for that movie)
also its probably might be a good thing that it is "denied" by the creator. because not only does that not change the text of the movie or what it shows, but the reality of world is that if a movie is confirmed to be "gay" then it cant be shown in certain countries or homophobic parents wont let their kids see it. dont get me wrong i could not give a shit about the money they want to make overseas but people who might not get to see it can see it without having to take anything integral from it. because it still is a queer movie but if the right people are able to do mental gymnastics to think that it isnt then people who might otherwise not be able to see a film like this will be able to watch it and i think thats important.
there is a tendency with history, i think, because we're so far removed from it, to kind of forget that all of the people were people
a child 10,000 years ago left a handprint on a wall. they were fingerpainting. a viking climbs up a rock just to carve the words "this is very high" 10ft off the ground. somebody centuries... milennia... ago burned their dinner so thoroughly that they buried the ruined pot in the backyard rather than attempt to clean it. shakespeare got drunk and wrote dick jokes. tutankhamun was a little boy who liked ducks more than anything. a roman carves his name into a monument in another country saying "i was here". a prisoner, centuries ago, in the tower of london scratches lines into the wall as a tally marking the days. a medieval monk scrawls in the margins bemoaning the boredom of his work.
every human being across history has said "i was here. i lived. i loved. i made something. i laughed. i cried. please do not forget me"
