Gee, Pops. Who woulda thought adopting a severely traumatized child but never calling him son or even by his own goddamn name, ostracizing him from your "real family" (aka never referring to your daughter as his sister or Eri as his niece, only ever "my daughter" or "my granddaughter") and then raising him in an organization that's built entirely on loyalty, would go the absolute mile to make you happy and gain power to that organization. Who'd'a think it, right? it's definitely not like he's trying to prove himself to you. no not at all, never.

In case it wasn't obvious... stand with animation, no ai, and unionize! Figured I'd come out and say it all finally, with this fun trend going around.
Stay informed.
I hate when people say the Heteromorph prejudice was last minute
because remember our introduction to the MHA world was through Midoriya and guess what? he isn't a heteromorph or live in an area where hate against heteromorphs is common

like if you look at his classmates they mostly have mutation quirks, so it makes sense he would be ignorant to heteromorph issues, and even at the beginning of the series you can see hints of it

Spinner getting upset at being dehumanised by Dabi (Ik the caption is wrong)

Shoto calling the police chief a mutt like even everyone around him was surprised

Pony calling shoji a ugly octopus (I remember her being meaner in the anima, but I couldn't find it)
there's definitely more but you get my point that no the Heteromorph prejudice didn't come out of nowhere if you were paying attention
Kicking my feet and giggling at all the new Shoji and Koda content because of the new ep rn
hear me out
Kai Chisaki x chubby reader
like yeah he'd hate it at first but he'd hate you no matter what only cause the only way I see him being in a relationship is if it was arranged by pops (because why get him therapy when you can throw a wife/husband at him instead?)
so he probably only picked you for your quirk (or lack of) he wouldn't go out of his way to insult you without reason ether like if you asked for his honest opinion, he'd give it but he's a traditional man and he did vow all that marriage stuff (even if he didn't really mean it)
but over time I see you developing a good relationship (god I love forced proximity) and I think he'd end up quite liking your body type, especially when you're cuddling though it probably only lasts 5 minutes and if he wants to Overhaul you for any reason like healing an injury or something he has more material to work with
(Ik this is delusional as hell but let me live in peace)
IM SO GLAD TO FIND ANOTHER SHODA FAN π Literally sobbing <3 HES SO SILLY AND NOBODY REALIZES!!
SO REAL
I made it real

I have too much spare time help
I just had a dream I saw a shoji figure but he was holding machine guns and didn't have any scars on his face also the lady that was selling it asked for 45 pounds when I like in Canada so idk ππ
I've been looking for more Inasa content recently but I can't really find any I haven't already seen, so if anyone has any recs that would be great. Thanks π

(Preferably SFW)
You ever think about how AFO probably has a lot of resource trauma considering his past, like I can't get over the fact that when we see a toddler-ish aged AFO he was noticeably more malnourished than his brother signaling that he probably only ate the bare minimum to survive in order to keep his sickly twin alive.
And I wounder if deep down that caused some subconscious resentment to from in him against Yoichi as they grew up. Like how some siblings who take the protector role in abusive environments can go on to resent the other sibling that they were protecting because 'they had it easier', that could probably explain why when they got older AFO seemed to overcorrect with him treating himself to luxuries whist Yoichi was kept in such poor conditions.
Like he still loved Yoichi and wanted him near him but he might've also resented him for the fact that he wasn't the one who had to constantly fight tooth and nail for them to survive. So, that's probably why he never took Yoichi's love for hero's and being kind seriously since he probably saw it as a result of his brother never having to deal with the 'real world' the way he did so just brushed it off as being naive.
And I just can't get over what that would do to a kid, like imagine a toddler coming to the realization that he has to starve himself in order to prioritize his siblings health. That's got to be traumatizing and I can just imagine AFO working to provide for the both of them even through illness, injuries or whatever because he new he couldn't afford to be sick or truly take a break and relax.
idk man it keeps me up at night.

Little thing I noticed in the background of the new chapter

That's definitely Gang Orca, which makes sense, and that's probably Ibara, but I'm not 100% sure that's Shishikura, but with the hat and mask it's the closest match I could find

Also the washing machine is still around somehow?
After the time skip headcanon (spoilers)
Midoriya and Monoma both become teachers at UA because
1. Monoma's quirk would be great for it
2. Monoma probably has some form of trauma from watching Bakugo die (kinda a parallel to Aizawa and Oboro)
And Monoma is constantly trying to start a rivalry between the classes while Midoriya is constantly trying to de-escalate it but ends up playing into it after a couple of years
Anyone else notice how similar Shoji and Stain's hair is now?

This is such a little detail, but I think it's so important, especially with what Spinner told him

Knowing how Stain was a symbol for people who felt rejected by society for their quirks and or appearance, this was definitely intentional on his part to try to also become a symbol of acceptance but in a less violent way (which he's doing great at)
having feelings about shoji's mask again, specifically after seeing that he chose to go back to wearing the mask in the epilogue. like. smth smth idk the choice has so many dimensions To Me but it also may not be that complicated. he's emulating old school heroes. he's gonna be cool just like them. he's covering his scars so no one thinks he's operating from a place of revenge. he's masking both literally and figuratively. but then he chooses to take off the physical mask for his classmates, and explains what happened to him (the figurative mask). and then in the battle, the choice to unmask is taken from him in a way. but like. the fact that he's been hurt too seems to be instrumental in turning the tide of that battle. the fact that he owns his face, his professed 'ugliness' and says 'yeah this is who i am,' is such an instrumental part of that battle and of his character arc.
but now post battle we see him back in the mask and it's like. is he hiding his face again? is he putting up another (figurative) mask? or is it just that he doesn't owe anyone his face? is it a sign of trouble or a fashion choice? is it not that deep? i think a lot of it is up to individual interpretation but i do think that having him unmasked in the class portrait and masked in most panels we've seen is a definite narrative choice.
i think shoji, more than a lot of the other characters, operates very similarly to all might. he's actively trying to become a symbol, and actively hiding his scars and past traumas, ostensibly so that they don't disrupt the myth of 'coolest hero' he hopes to construct. i wonder, post battle, if he still wants to become that symbol. i also wonder if all might recognizes their similarities, and, knowing what he knows now about his own life, and especially after the successes and failures of mentoring izuku to take up his helm as the symbol of peace--would all might ever sit down with shoji and talk about what it really means to live your life as a symbol? i think it would be a valuable talk.
AAAAAAA Shoda content!
(So happy you're back but don't feel like you have to push yourself:))
Can you make a headcanon of shoda?
I love him but I donβt see a lot of him
Not proofread we die like men
He either listens to the most ear scratching music, smooth jazz or nothing at all and I cant decide which it is.
I mentioned before that I keep switching if he can cook or if he cant.
I have so many thoughts about him but they all contradict eachother lmao. Like I can see this man standing akwardly in the corner of any social event but at the same time the fucker can break dance and would be the life of the party if he wanted.
Hes probably very smart academically but because of that he can lack a bit of common sense.
Hes very gullible.
Like he watched mulan once and was convinced rin was secretly a woman for like a week and a half lmao (mostly because he has longer hair) (also ties into being gullible)
Shodas hair naturally spikes up hella bad like Kamakiris while Kamakiris hair is normally flat asf
Gif anime - mob psycho 100

I love this panel sm man
Monoma is happy celebrating getting the recognition he deserves with the rest of class 2-B. Like Horikoshi didn't need to add this, he could have just forgotten about it like Kurogiri, but I'm so happy he didn't

I'm staying in denial until I see a body Horikoshi.
I fully believe Koda could win a fight against Bakugo if he was willing to send a few animals to their deaths
THEY DID NOOOOO

Still love him tho
I don't think I'm mentally prepared for this face reveal to get animated chat

if studio bones fucks this up ifstg
You too...Pops... :"v

Hey, I was researching again, and seeing all his opinions... and bro... Damn, old man! What crossed your mind, thinking that it was okay to leave the care of your granddaughter to a person who still had traumas, unstable and violent tendencies?
Damn, I come from a dysfunctional family and seeing those outbursts in Chisaki... it was so familiar... and obvious at first glance to know that Chisaki was like that a lot of the time under his "polite person" mask.
There is LITERALLY no way that Pops hasn't witnessed many of the outbursts in Chisaki. And yet he had the nerve to point him out for not following the right path when Pops most likely didn't really make an effort to correct it from the beginning, or didn't have the brains to do something.
We could say that he "tolerated" Chisaki beyond what was stupidly allowed, or rather... HE NEVER gave him the necessary importance to know the type of person he was creating.
With that situation, let's look at another important point. Her daughter, who after what happened with Eri's father, he made no effort to try to support her or help her cope with what happened and prevent her from abandoning her granddaughter.
And what was the best thing he did? Talking disparagingly about his own daughter, and then calling Chisaki's babysitter, evading much of her responsibility and without having thought of something more logical like seeking some help outside of Chisaki to know how to deal with Eri's quirk.
There is simply no excuse not to see Pops as a rather irresponsible and hypocritical person.
