I was momentarily possessed by the spirit of art and drew a Kaminari from an AU belonging to me and my girlfriend.
Thoughts on Neito Monama from MHA?
Okay, I've seen a LOT of people hate on him, and can kinda see why, but I like his character
When I first saw him in the sports festival, he displayed traits of a very rational and strategic thinker, and was level headed and aware. He (and his team) nearly won the headband event. Idrk why, but I've always admired strategic characters and found them very interesting and fun to watch. And although we start to see a different, more jealous and competitive side of him shortly after, it doesn't take away from how I saw him in the beginning. We get to see his more level headed side when he's asked to work with Eri later in the series
I can see how people find him annoying tho, what with his hatred for Class 1A. But I don't mind it, tis amusing to me. And I mean, it's not like he's a creep, right?
Sorry this has just turned into me defending Monoma lol

So yeah, my thoughts on Monoma: I really like him 👍
In the BNHA/MHA fandom, it’s a pretty standard/common belief that during storms, Denki is basically a lighting rod or something to that effect.
He gets really wired, gets hit by lighting, can kinda control lighting, etc etc. (I love all of these).
But, for laughs, what if Monoma copied his quirk during a storm, not knowing the side affects.
Class B is freaking out when Kaminari knocks on their door all smug like, ‘so, Monoma needs my help huh.’
He just walks into the common room and up to Monoma. Tetsutetsu tries to stop him but gets electrocuted.
Kaminari just drags him outside and they enjoy the tingly storm feeling. Kaminari makes sure Monoma doesn’t get shocked bc he might die.
I would also like to add to this. Kaminari is super bouncy and hyperactive the whole time. Then, he gets strike by lightning and is the most chill person. Like can’t sit still to leaning back and watching the view.

I don’t remember who it was on Reddit that said it makes sense for Monoma to be one of the most empathetic characters in BNHA cuz of his Quirk, (his quirk allows him to walk in the shoes of other people in ways most will never be able to even if for 5 minutes at a time), but let’s talk about it for a minute.
Monoma is a character full of contradictions but there’s a method to the madness.
Let’s take a real deep look at the manga shall we?

Why does this expression on Monoma’s face, noticeably more intense than when he was initially reacting to the fact that he couldn’t help Eri, give me the impression that he either
A) Knows more about Deku’s quirk than he’s letting on
B) Has gained some new respect/sympathy for Deku for some reason
C) Has always sort-of respected Deku but we’re only just now seeing it (this is their first time interacting with each other as individuals outside of a competition & without the presence of fellow classmates)
or
D) This is the way he usually acts (subdued & very thoughtful) and we’re only just now seeing it lol
…. OR
E) He’s been having an internal crisis ever since class B started hanging out with class A & this is just a crack in his facade of normalcy. (Honestly this one is most likely. This is literally his only appearance since the Joint Training arc which is weird considering how extroverted he is).

Monoma is happy celebrating getting the recognition he deserves with the rest of class 2-B. Like Horikoshi didn't need to add this, he could have just forgotten about it like Kurogiri, but I'm so happy he didn't
After the time skip headcanon (spoilers)
Midoriya and Monoma both become teachers at UA because
1. Monoma's quirk would be great for it
2. Monoma probably has some form of trauma from watching Bakugo die (kinda a parallel to Aizawa and Oboro)
And Monoma is constantly trying to start a rivalry between the classes while Midoriya is constantly trying to de-escalate it but ends up playing into it after a couple of years

Quick drawing to celebrate my best boy's comeback in the anime! Oh how I loved the new episode, I waited for it since the manga chapter came out qwq
I know I usually don't post Bnha but he's my exception ♡
I have been so obsessed with Monoma's last appearance in chapter 416. I've returned to this chapter at least 5 times.
Not only is it painful to see Monoma (a usually confident and energetic guy) lying in such a vulnerable position on the stretcher, but we see Manga with him. Monoma's fellow classmate, also half-alive, begging him to live on. It's such a small panel, but making the person with him a 1B student instead of just another pro hero/background character is such a nice addition.
It makes me so happy to see the relationship between Monoma and his 1B classmates outside of the light novels, but it hurt since we're only seeing this when Monoma's injured. In the main series, we barely if not never see anything that shows the relationship between Monoma and his classmates (It's largely just them telling Monoma he's bothering 1A). Even in the light novels, the respect and love 1B has towards Monoma is written but unsaid in dialogue/said when he is away. So I am so grateful we're finally getting dialogue on Monoma's (positive) peer relationships, albeit small, from here.
(This turned out longer than I expected. I just wanted to talk about Monoma and friends. Tune in next week for me talking about Monoma in a stretcher + how it shows his character growth ...or something.)
