Rooks, you say? (Part 2) A Jacob Frye x Reader Imagine

After your brawl with some Blighters, a handsome man in odd robes and a flat cap approaches you with an impressed look on his face.

You: You seem to be amused?

Handsome man: Why not? You seem to handle yourself pretty nicely.

You: Was that meant to be a compliment? I’m sure you can think better than that.

He scoffed in a rather amusing way. He then introduces himself. He grabs your hand and placed a soft kiss at the back of it.

Handsome man: Jacob Frye, pleased to meet you Miss -?

You: (Y/N)

Jacob: (Y/N)...any last name?

You: Now that Mr. Frye remains a mystery

You playfully shove your hand away from his. Jacob looks at you with a smirk on his face.

Jacob: I'm quite impressed with the way you handle those blokes earlier, it'll put quite a good use for the Rooks. We’d be fortunate to have you with us.

You: Beg your pardon, the Rooks you say? Like those little chess pieces?

You giggled at the thought of it.

Jacob: Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha. Don’t worry, we won’t be as boring as the game of chess.

You laughed at the idea. You? A Rook? You know better than that. This handsome man right here, Jacob Frye, the infamous gang leader of the Rooks offered you a place in his crusade, but you knew he was more than that. You watched him fought with some Blighters before and you found his skills are almost implicated as yours. You expected him to offer you much more than being a Rook, you wanted him to recruit you as a fellow assassin to help liberate London from the Templar's hands. You remained discreet regarding your Assassin skills just as the Council advised knowing one day you'll put them to good use for London, but not alone. It seems that Jacob is still clueless about you being an assassin despite the hints you've been exposing to him recently. You turn your back on him, a bit disappointed actually.

You: Forgive me, but I’ve had enough dealing with those Blighters and their malicious intents. I would probably say the same thing at your gang too.

Jacob walks near you with his hand in motion as he speaks.

Jacob: I assure you, my lady. We are not as malicious as you think. We are here to make London a better place for its people. There are pricks who needs to be brought down in order to free London from their very hands. We will conquer every boroughs the Blighters ever ruled. Free every children from the factories. And replace their gang strongholds to one of ours.

You: Oh, what a noble deed. Mr. Frye, do you really think your gang of rooks will do better with my presence around? You barely know of my potential.

Jacob: Then it will be a fantastic opportunity to find out more of your potential if you'd join with us? It'll be quite an adventure.

Adventure. That words excites you in every way possible and brought a small genuine smile on your face but barely showing it to Jacob.

You: Let me think about it.

Jacob: How will I know if you agree?

You: You'll know.

You winked at him and left to ponder the thought of an offer for adventure. One quite different than you're used to.
