Villains & Vigilantes - bc, yeah, superheroes are nice and all, but at the end of the day, wouldn't it be nice to know that someone was willing to burn the world to the ground just to see you smile?

It's Not My Style (to Read Or Write), But This Makes Me Want To Write A Story About A Beautiful Heirloom
It's not my style (to read or write), but this makes me want to write a story about a beautiful heirloom gown that's passed down from one woman to another (often in family lines, but not always), but it somehow only gets worn by powerful women who leave an impact on the world (or maybe the gown is what gives the women the circumstances to become powerful enough to leave an impact?)

Mary Vetsera’s sheer black nightgown from Mayerling. Designed by Nicholas Georgiadis.
Row 1: Sarah Lamb, Melissa Hamilton, and Mara Galeazzi.
Row 2: Lauren Cuthbertson, Alessandra Ferri, and Melissa Hamilton.
Row 3: Viviana Durante, Alina Cojocaru, and Tamara Rojo.

something about needless tragedy when its effectively written and how it works SO well. boromir taking like seven arrows to the chest and continuing to fight and it doesnt save merry and pippin. the fact that merry and pippin were needlessly taken bc the uruks thought they had the ring, which they didnt. there are people in this war willingly sacrificing themselves to distract sauron from frodo and then there are people given no time to think through a plan, doing the best with the few seconds they have and dying with the hope that their actions will protect the people they love. and sometimes it doesnt. boromirs epic final stand did not actually matter, did not give the hobbits a chance to escape. but his final breaths were given with love nonetheless.
This is not the same, but it sharply reminds me of when my gremlin is at home now (as in, not at preschool).
I'll wait forever for 'nightnight' time, wanting to write and be creative, and as soon as I actually get the chance, my creativity is suddenly evaporated.
@ddbirb -- I hope you were able to take that medicine and start feeling better
Me: wow, I feel like garbage. Maybe I should get some medicine-
My brain: OR you could use the sickness as fuel to WRITE!!
Me: ….. you want to write NOW?
can’t get over when famous gangster lucky luciano was like “hey lansky seems like quite a hassle getting all those nazis offa your terf you want us to help ya out” and meyer “Left Russia Because of Pogroms and Became A Gangster In The US” lansky was like “no. no getting to beat the shit out of nazis is reward enough for us. sorry lucky this one’s personal don’t worry about it”

oh man i just get such a kick outta other people's passions. it's like the opposite of secondhand embarrassment - it's secondhand excitement. like fuck yeah dude! i'm so fucking proud of you! you worked so fucking hard (i remember, i was there, i saw!) and then you made this and it is fucking amazing. it doesn't even have to be good! you don't even have to make anything! i just love that you love something! i fucking bask in that, man. it makes all my meters read "fuck yeah"....... nothing can hurt me i am protected by the warmth of Friends Enjoying Things.......
