do you have any tips for applying for college? In specific, essays? Did you visit all your campus’s before applying? Also how many college did you apply for? Thank You
omg hi!! i love giving advice about school and college LMFAO bc i was my family's guinea pig (as the oldest child) so i had to experience everything on my own and it was a very confusing and stressful time for me so i wanna be there for others as well :))) (edit: this ended up being a REALLY LONG POST im so sorry anon) <3
i applied to four colleges in all but i was planning to apply to three more (but i didn't because i got into my early decision school) and out of the 7 i applied to/planning to apply to, i only visited three! for my senior class, the average # of schools people applied to was about 5 to 8 colleges, i believe.
as for essays, honestly from my experience ,(and from talking with my peers and friends) one method is to really suck up to the school (lol as cliche as it sounds). look into what the school is really passionate about and relate it to you. for example, my college is very proud of its student diversity,,,so in my essay i recognized how the school's diversity is one of the main reasons why i chose to apply to this school and i wrote about how i never grew up in a diverse community and how my college's community would change this experience. make it sound like you really know the school and expand on how not only the college itself, but also its community can benefit you.
and definitely don't procrastinate! lol this was my biggest mistake because my senior year's fall semester was so so so stressful all because i procrastinated on my essays. it's easier said than done though, i would know :'))) but trust me, the earlier you get it done, you will no longer have that weight on you for the rest of senior year (and on top of other senior year responsibilities, you do not want that burden on you. this was my mistake whoops)
and also the entire concept of where you go for college may seem like the most important thing in the world to you (it was to me, honestly but society gets to your head you know) but at the end of the day, you'll do amazing and everything happens for a reason, so don't let yourself stress out too much about everything!
YOU GOT THIS!!!! <3
Hi i was wondering if you moved after highschool when you got into college to an apartment? I don’t want to move away from my family yet but i really want to go to my dream school, I apologize for bothering you💓 I was just curious if it was hard for you?
hiiii you're not bothering me at all! i'm so glad i can help haha. i'm entering my second year of college this year and i got an apartment for this year but last year, i stayed at a dorm. so yes, i moved out from home last year and i completely understand how you feel, i felt the same way because you're starting a new life in a sense and you're all on your own but trust me, it's such a great experience because you get to learn how to be independent and you learn so much more about yourself! it's all a part of life, even though it was hard at first. in fact, i actually learned that i love being independent so now it feels so weird to be back at home (for the summer) haha <3 <3
my toxic trait is isolating myself in order to feel better when all i really need is a hug and someone that tells me it’s gon be alright
