it's one of those nights where the summer air is thick and heavy, pressing down on everything like a blanket. you're lounging in your room, sprawled out on your bed with the window open, hoping for a breeze that never comes. the sound of laughter drifts up from downstairs, your brother and his friends having the time of their lives without a care in the world.
