summary being a book nerd never tasted so sweet

it was annotated. 

the book you let him borrow – your favourite book – was annotated. you took it from his grasp, admiring the matching sticky tabs to the aesthetic of the book cover. flicking through the book you could slightly see his scrawly handwriting in the sides of the pages and crammed between the lines on the pages. you looked back up at him, taking in his adorable bashful appearance; hands in pockets and trying his best to look everywhere but you. 

he remembered something also, digging through his bag and pulling out a couple sheets of parchment paper, all rolled neatly into a cylinder with a pretty blue and silver bow tying it off in the middle. “it’s just…they’re just…notes! notes i made– basically just my random thoughts throughout the book that i thought maybe you could read and we could talk about them? i-if you’d like of course.” 

“namjoon…you’re so fucking cute oh my god.” he really went out of his way to not only read your favourite book, but annotated it AND wrote down his thoughts. how the hell were you going to repay him? you looked around at the bookshelves and back at professor pince who *thankfully* was too absorbed by filch’s horrible flirting and then back at namjoon. You stood placing everything in your bag before taking his hand and weaving through the millions of bookshelves to the very back of the library and stopping in front of a pretty stained glass window of helga hufflepuff. 

“you know joonie…” your fingers trailed up his arms and interlocked at the nape of his neck. “no-one’s ever gone out of their way to annotate a book for me before.” 

“y-yeah? well i know how much you like it and i wanted to like it just as much.”

“and did you? like it i mean?” your lips ghosted the edge of his ear, before pressing a light kiss to the very end of his chiselled jaw.

“it wasn’t my favourite genre but it was a g-good read.” your kisses travelled further up his jaw, ghosting across his lips to the other side of his face. it made him stammer and also want to drop off the floor with heatstroke. you were way too hot for him and yet here was, in his embrace, kissing his jaw as a thank you. 

“joonie can i kiss you? pretty please?” you pouted, eyes constantly flickering to his lips. “I don’t know how else to thank you right now but please… let me kiss you now and i promise i’ll take you out on a real date after.”

“you’ll take me on a date?” his eyes bugged out of his head, the shock of finally having you. 

“yes i promise now can i please ki-” namjoon wasted no time diving in and capturing your lips in his, turning your bodies around and pressing you against the window. he pulled back after a few seconds, his eyes admiring your ethereal beauty as the mixture of yellow and orange light kissed your skin making you glow like his own personal treasure. 

“and maybe on the date we can discuss your book and i can give you one of mine to read?”

“yes, yes that sounds perfect baby but shush now and kiss me like that again.” you whined slightly, pouting up at him. 

namjoon chuckled, pressing his lips against yours once more, savouring each whimper and gasp emitted from your dewy lips as he kissed them. being a book-nerd never tasted so sweet.
