No. NO. NO. NO. Christmas does not start in September, nor does it start in October or November. In fact, it is at the END of December. I saw Christmas lights up today. Are these people nuts? Are their lives so very empty that they have to stretch one or two weeks of holiday into several months? September has lots on offer: Labour Day, the beginning of school, cooler nights and lovely days, colours changing. And October is lovely: the height of autumn, more colours, Thanksgiving in Canada, Halloween. November has American Thanksgiving, time to get your Christmas shopping thought out and started, Remembrance Day. Leave Christmas until December where it belongs. Please. Give each month its glory and enjoy what it has on offer. Stop jumping the gun.

Hope means that the agony and the ecstasy of longing for joy this world can never give is a sure sign that I was made by and for One who is joy itself, and Him alone.

Brag alert

So I am 60 and I do like video games, although I am not great at them necessarily. But I went back to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and though it took me a week, I finally freed all the Divine Beasts (I only had one done) AND today, I beat the pants off Ganon. Whew. I am really proud of myself. I started playing Tears of the Kingdom (I am probably half way through), but I had never actually finished BOTW. I honestly didn't think I had what it took to beat it. I am one proud Grandma right now!

I just saw an old post that asked the question, "What answered prayers are you living right now?", which is an excellent question and deserves an answer.

I have everything I need and even more than what I need.

I had been praying about a career that I launched, but it is has officially ended and that's okay. Time to move on to the next thing.

Somehow I managed to get Employment Insurance even though I was sure they wouldn't grant it. It's only for a time, but that will be time enough.

Two small jobs have ended and both filled a need. They are no longer needed and again, it's time to move on.

We are both healthy again.

What about you? What answered prayers are you living?

Jack always rocked it!

How to avoid God:

Avoid silence, avoid solitude, avoid any train of thought that leads off the beaten track. Concentrate on money, sex, status, health and (above all) on your own grievances. Keep the radio on. Live in a crowd. Use plenty of sedation.

I really struggled with the idea of Mary while converting, but THIS comparison was one of the things which conquered that fear.
