jang uk loved every version of his shadow

he loved her while she was his merciless master, a woman with a dark and violent past.

while she was his servant and betrothed, a woman who decided to accept his promise and renounce violence.

even after she stabbed and killed him with her sword, he embraced her and accepted his death. because he loved her.

years later, jang uk found himself loving a crazy-powerful-sorceress with a sweet smile and comfortable hugs. the one who had the same soul as his beloved, even if he did not know it.

she embraced the shadows for him and brought light back into his life.

he loved her. every part of her.

as naksu.

as mu-deok.

as jin bu yeon.

and, finally, as cho yeong, his wife.

because he didn't only love the woman. he loved her soul.

I really can't get over this quote here because it is probably true (at least in S1). Hear me out:

Uk loved Naksu to death, quite literally. The last thing he did after she stabbed him was to sink her sword deeper into his chest so he could embrace her and protect her from the other mages with his own body. Then reached for her hand in a secret "I love you" gesture because he couldn't even talk anymore.

Naksu was the first person who ever saw him for himself, and he would burn the world for her.

But for Naksu Uk was everything even if she never explicitly said it.

He was also the first and only person to see her for herself. He was her safe place in a world that hated, hunted and hurt her. She had to rely on herself ever since she was a kid, had to be strong, the strongest, since no weakness was allowed. She was isolated, living in the middle of nowhere in dire conditions.

And then Uk came along and offered her a house where people took care of her. HE took care of her, protected her, showed her she could rely on him. And all of a sudden she was no longer alone, she didn't have to fend for herself, she didn't have to be strong, she no longer was just an assassin. She was just her, someone worthy of love, someone who deserved to be taken care of, someone who could be weak.

He destroyed the walls she'd built and gave her a safe space where she could let go instead of living in survival mode.

He showered her with love when all she'd ever known was violence.

For most of her life, her sense of identity revolved around her power. She was the most powerful mage in all of Daeho. And he was the person she gave up all of that for. She gave up everything for him and she didn't care.

He was her haven in a world that killed her twice and then killed her a third time.

Some of u guys were expecting cho yeong to become a God level assassin after getting her memories back which is not realistic at all. She trained all her life as naksu to get to the level she was and when she became "mudeok" she kept complaining about how weak the body was. naksu was described as a very tall and strong looking woman. If u watch her fight against park jin in s1, she was almost as tall as him. Cho yeong in s2 still has buyeon's body. She also hasn't trained in 3+ years.

Cho yeong as mudeok (in s1) even with all her memories was willing to forget everything, move on and marry jang uk, why is it not in character for Cho yeong in s2 not to want to go back to that kind of life and choose to live peacefully when shes loved by so many people??

And it's not like current cho yeong is weak. She literally has jin seolran's powers and she's still one of the most powerful women in the world. She just doesn't fight like she used to.

I'm not saying you have to love the ending but it just looks like some of yall are trying to find a reason to complain about the show

people willfully misunderstanding the whole point of cho yeong’s arc was not to return to who she was but to grow and find a purpose in life that she chose for herself

if he doesn't pull you closer as u drive a sword through his stomach to protect you from the mages surrounding because of a killing spree is he even worth it? if he doesn't shield you with his dying body and entwine your hands as a secret personal love code then can he really mean it?

How dare the Hong sisters make most of the episode cute and happy and then pull that cliffhanger ending 😭😭 how do they expect us to wait till December 😭😭. How is the crown prince not sus of jinmu he was literally sus of anyone in the beginning. how is naksu gonna clear her name and what is jang uk gonna do after he finds out that all of this was shitmu's work. I have so many questions

Anyways the cast did such a good job I hope they got enough rest for s2

IS THE CROWN PRINCE NOT SUSPICIOUS OF JINMU? I loved the crown prince's friendship with jang uk if he actually believes whatever bs jinmu is saying I'm gonna punch my laptops screen.

I don't get why some fans want to drop the show because the original cast is gonna be replaced. The only one who's not gonna be in part 2 is jung somin. Also Go yoonjung is apart of the original cast. I thought we all wanted naksu back.

Why do yall want uk to end up with mudeok and yul with naksu? Do u not realize that uk is in love with naksu whos in mudeoks body and naksu is in love with him?

yul is so irritating pls i liked you better when you were cute and not taking away the agency of women
