The ring of love

The Ring Of Love

Pairing: Atlethe Jeonghan x Preppy reader

Warning: makeout session, cringy nicknames, too-hot-to-handle jeonghan, mild cursing

Summary: He lost his superstitious ring and is now near to losing his sanity.

You were cluelessly wandering around the unfamiliar hallway in search of the boys’ locker room. You could’ve just met Jeonghan after the game but you were worried sick about your boyfriend. His team lost two weeks in a row and he blamed it all on the missing ring, the one that you gave him when you asked him out in high school. Ever since then he considered the ring as his lucky charm, he wore it to all of his games and he grew superstitious because he always won. No matter how many times you comforted him and tried to convince him that it wasn’t luck but his own effort, he never listens. He had been stressing out since the day before, he was so restless that he didn’t even eat properly and was being extra clingy with you.

Finally, you found the locker room after a sweet girl offered to tell you the directions. You politely knocked, being the mannered goody-two-shoes you are, but also because you didn’t want to be met with a bunch of naked guys. Waiting patiently for a few minutes, you concluded that they didn’t hear you among the cacophony of loud voices and chaos inside. You knocked again, and the door sprung open almost immediately and the person on the other side stumbled back, not expecting to be met with someone as soon as he opened the door.

“Jeonghan, you didn’t tell your girlfriend was coming to see us play!” The male yelled, still holding you up at the door and not inviting you inside. He gestured to you to remain silent with a wicked smile.

“I’m not in the mood for your games, Joshua, don’t get on my nerves.” You frowned, his voice was strained, he sounded frustrated and tense.

“I’ll take it from here.” You thanked him, patting his shoulder.

“He’s behind those lockers.” He whispered when you brushed past him.

“Jeonghan, we’ll get going, join us when you’re done!” Seungcheol winked when you looked at him and shooed all the boys out of the room, you almost kicked Seungkwan when he made kissing gestures with his hands on his way out.

You carefully walked to where he was and peeked, leaning on the locker. Jeonghan didn’t notice you as he was fiddling with his pants, yet to put on his jersey. He was sighing too much, often running his fingers in his hair and licking his lips, he acted like that whenever he was vexed. Stressed was one way to put it, but he looked so hot right now, and you shamelessly gawked at him. Suddenly, you felt a swell of pride when you remembered that he was yours, he has always been yours. You feel bad for the girls you saw near the bleachers, holding up banners with his name and some were even gossiping about asking him out after the game, how crushed would they be when they find out that their campus crush is taken.

Unfortunately, you and Jeonghan didn’t end up in the same university as you were more on the academic side and he was more into enjoying life and being in the spotlight. Which led to moving in together. You didn’t think your parents would ever allow you to live with a man even though he was your boyfriend, but Jeonghan was quite the charmer. They do visit you both once in a while, mostly your mom because she was stubborn about delivering side dishes for you two, every week. His parents lived outside the city so they didn’t visit you as often, but when they do, you run out of storage space. You couldn’t believe it, even after being with him all these years, that this beautiful man is yours to kiss and shower with love.

You tapped the heel of your boot against the tiled floor to get his attention.

“Joshua, I told you-!” You flashed him a cheeky smile and waved at him, laughing at his surprised face.

“Baby, what are you doing here? Are you real here?” He reached his hand out for your hand, it was one of his adorable habits. You find it so cute that the star athlete finds peace of mind in holding things, well when you’re there, holding you.

“Yes, I’m really here, Han.” He watched with bubbling warmth as you laughed, throwing your head back and then sliding your hand in his. “And I came here to give you some luck.”

Jeonghan chuckled, bringing your hand up to place a lingering kiss on the back of it. He was so relieved that you showed up before the game, he was about to lose his sanity just by thinking about the game over and over again. The last two games weren’t as important as this one, this could cost their scholarship, the officials might replace some of his team members with the freshers joining next year or scout new players. As one of the midfielders, he has the responsibility of that of a leader and he must protect his team. He was helpless, at first he thought of sitting out or being a substitute and let the rest of the eleven play on the field. But that is just dumb, he is one of the crutial players and everything would go downfall.

“What are you storming inside your mind?” You softly asked, smoothening the crease formed between his eyebrows with your fingers. “You’ll be fine, Hannie, I promise. You practised so hard and I’ll be rooting for you, today I really will be there, sitting on the bleachers.” You caressed his cheek with your free hand.

“Don’t you, like, have a test tomorrow? You should be studying for it.”

“Yep. But I’ve already studied those topics, so it doesn’t matter. And, you are more important to me than any stupid test.” Your eyes were blinded as he flashed the brightest smile at you, his nose scrunching cutely as he did so. By now, you were also grinning like an idiot.

“Fuck, what did I do to deserve a goddess like you?”

You squealed when he suddenly pulled you to his naked chest by your hand and circled his arm around you. He pecked your nose, drawing a fit of giggles from you, soon they became muffled sounds as he pressed his lips on yours. The kiss was playful, two of you were smiling and giggling in between, and teasing one another with titillating touches. You traced your fingertips on the skin above the waistband of his pants, the action was nothing if not simply chaste and flirtatious, you both knew that. He removed your hand to scoop you up and let your legs enclose his torso, the abrupt action made you cling onto his shoulders in fear of falling. Though, the way he was holding the back of your skirt from riding up, made your heart flutter.

“It’s not funny, Jeonghan! Put me down!” You whined, but the latter was busy laughing and enjoying taunting you, he has too much fun from playing with your poor heart. His teases are annoying but it had no malice, then again, you were a paranoid scaredy cat.

“Why are you so scared, Princess? I will catch you if you fall, like I always do.” You’d have snorted at his cheesy words if he didn’t sugar coat it with a kiss on the apple of your cheek. You were a sucker for cheek kisses, his cheek kisses, somehow he made them more romantic and affectionate.

“I have a negotiation, Mr. Yoon Jeonghan. So, if you’ll put me down.” His hands left your thighs as he gripped your waist to hold you from falling while you unwrap your legs. You shot him a glare before fixing your crumbled blouse and pulling your skirt down.

“What may that be, Ma’am.” He wore a lopsided grin as he leaned on his locker.

“I’ll give you this but
.” You held the ring up, the exact same jewelry he was desperately searching for weeks. His eyes lit up when he recognised it. “Only if you win this game.”

The Ring Of Love

“Here!” Mingyu called out, patting the empty space beside him after seeing you enter the bleachers.

“Is it okay if I sit beside you? I mean, isn’t the bench for players?”

“Sure, I’m sitting this one out, I ate three corndogs and I have a feeling that I’d throw up if I go inside the field. So, they asked me to stay away. Coups literally yelled ‘ just stay the fuck out the field and don’t ruin it for us’, at my face.” He pouted and sent a death glare towards Seungcheol’s direction.

“I’m sure, he didn’t mean it. He must’ve blurted out in the heat of the moment.”

“I know
. But still
. I’ll get my revenge later at the dorm.” You chuckled, rubbing his back.

You felt a few eyes on you and you turned around to check, you were right and it definitely wasn’t just a few eyes. Some girls were throwing daggers and curses at you with their eyes, and they played innocent when you made eye contact with them. They were whispering something, that was somewhere between the lines of ‘who is she?’ and ‘why is she with him?’, you rolled your eyes and faced the front, purposely hinting at an attitude. You knew they caught on it when you heard a scoff from behind. You may look like a naive preppy missy, easy to pick on and ridicule, completely disguising your inner freak, but that’s what makes it fun.

The Ring Of Love

“What happens now? The game is over?” You asked Mingyu, seeing the boys walk away from the field, the midfielders huddling up in the corner, the rest of the team collapsing on the benches and hydrating themselves.

“No, it’s not, they still have a second period, it’s just a break. If they manage to break the tie in fifteen minutes then they win or else
. I don’t really know. The game could end up in a tie and I think it’s most likely to end likewise since they are already playing overtime.” You let out a quiet ‘oh’ and nodded, soccer turned out to be pretty interesting, you might reconsider Jeonghan’s offer to teach you soccer. Mainly because he was radiating a new level of attractiveness when he controlled the ball with his feet, now you understand why girls line up to see the game. Guess from now you will be making time for his soccer games.

Your eyes were set on him, and a fondly smile danced on your lips. Though Jeonghan was burning with desire and really passionate about winning the game, he also paid special attention to the safety of his teammates. They shared an unexceptional bond, it showed even between the ruckus on the field, whenever they fell down they made sure to assure the others with a small nod or some other gesture.

He was approaching the goal post, Seungcheol was dribbling the ball between his feet as he tried to reach Jeonghan from the opposite side. And when they met parallely, their eyes locked, an untold conversation was shared. In the next second, the ball was passed to Jeonghan who kicked it towards the goal. But sensing the goalie’s new found alertness and next move, he kicked in the extreme corner, the ball struck the metal of the goal post and bounced back. Cacophony of groans could be heard from the audience and also from the teammates themselves. They didn’t expect or foresee the tricks Jeonghan had in his hands, not even the opposite team, when he kicked the bounced ball back inside the goal post.

That was it, the famous winning goal, by Yoon Jeonghan. He was back in the game, and might’ve stepped up his skills a little bit higher over these weeks of ill-fated games. The boys surrounded him, practically jumped on him and squeezed him in a bone breaking group hug. You swear you saw a peek of Seokmin and Soonyoung forcefully smooching his cheeks simultaneously while the poor boy stuck-in-between grimaced. The trophy was handed to the captain, Choi Seungcheol and he hoisted it up in the air -  drawing roars of cheers - whilst smiling at you. To which in return you mouthed a ‘congratulations’.

You were too focused on the crowd and sportsmanship of the other team when they shook hands, to notice the male sneaking up behind you. You flinched, screaming when you felt a push on your back, but you didn’t kiss the ground thanks to Jeonghan’s grip on your forearms. Of course it was one of his antics.

“What the fuck, you scared me! You’re such an asshole, Yoon Jeonghan!” You hit his chest repeatedly making him pout.

“Such foul words shouldn’t be coming out of your sugar lips, baby.”

“Tsk.” You rolled your eyes. “Anyways, here’s your reward!” You chirped, taking the ring out of your pocket and giving it to him.

“I’m about to do something crazy, so I’m apologising in advance. Please spare me later.”

“What are you-” You gasped when he kneeled to the ground, prompting his right hand up that held the ring.

“My little monster, you were my first love and will be my last, I promise. I fell into your spell ever since that day you slammed me against the lockers and stole a kiss from me. And I realised that you’re my endgame when you knelt to the ground and asked me out in front of the whole school. Someday, I thought someday I will always do the same and here I am today. Will you forever be the queen of my heart and accept this ring, my future wife?” You were starstruck, speechless, there was heat flushing through your body despite the cold breeze of the night.

Everyone gradually paused what they were doing to pay their attention to you two. You heard faint cheers of encouragement and whistles from the boys, as they held their phones up to capture the moment. Jeonghan was still waiting for your answer patiently and was surprisingly calm, maybe he already knows that you would never not say yes to his proposal. You had talked about getting married to him, shared about your fantasies about your wedding dress and venue with him, and also gave him a heads up that you weren’t a big fan of public proposals but he couldn’t wait. The moment he held your hand at the locker room before, he knew that it was time.

“Yes. I will always say yes when it’s you.”

“I know.” He slipped the ring in your ring finger and immediately kissed you when he stood on his feet.

“Get a room!” You heard Seungkwan yell amongst the sound of applause and screams.

If it wouldn't be too much of a bother, can we have some angst with Zhongli, Childe, Kaeya, and Diluc (separately), where the reader gets so beaten up in a battle to where they were fatally wounded? Whether they get out alive or not can be up to you!! (I'm weirdly a sucker for angst hehebhrh)

them when you get severely injured

includes: zhongli, kaeya, childe, and diluc

a/n: i kinda turned this into a Them Thinking You’re Fatally Injured But You Actually Survive prompt so i hope u don’t mind anon ;;

warnings: mentions of blood and injuries

If It Wouldn't Be Too Much Of A Bother, Can We Have Some Angst With Zhongli, Childe, Kaeya, And Diluc

zhongli

after zhongli found you severely injured, you were in his arms in no time. he ran as fast as he could, holding on to you as tight as he could. your eyes eventually fluttered shut — you were too weak and in too much pain to tell him that it hurt to be in his arms.

your head was spinning. you could hear voices surrounding you, but you couldn’t understand what they were saying. your eyelids were too heavy to open as well. and as you drifted off, you were struck with fear for just a moment: scared that you would never open your eyes again.

but you did.

a few days later, your eyes finally opened again. zhongli stayed by your side every second he could. he was often sent home by baizhu or childe whenever he visited.

“zhongli?”

the sound of your hoarse voice pulls zhongli out of his thoughts. “you’re awake,” he comes closer, kneeling next to the bed you were in and stroking your hair. “you’re awake.” he repeats, as if it finally sunk in.

“how long have i been out?” you ask, a weak smile creeping into your face. you instantly felt comforted in zhongli’s presence.

“only a few days. but you’ll have to stay here a bit longer as you heal
do you even remember what happened?” he asks.

you sigh. “yes. but barely
almost as if i was having an out of body experience, watching it from afar
” you explain. “all i can remember is the pain.”

zhongli sighs, and squeezes his eyes shut as if he was the one in pain. “i’m so sorry, my love. i can’t begin to wonder what would’ve happened if i hadn’t found you.” he intertwines his fingers with yours.

“don’t think about that,” you say softly. “you did. and i’m okay.”

he leans in and kisses your forehead. “you’re okay.”

If It Wouldn't Be Too Much Of A Bother, Can We Have Some Angst With Zhongli, Childe, Kaeya, And Diluc

kaeya

you and kaeya had gone adventuring when you had a run in with some monsters after splitting up. usually they were no problem, but somehow you had managed to run into a larger group of them than you had ever gone up against. you were completely overpowered, eventually having to take a run for it before collapsing to the ground. you had escaped the monsters, but you were badly injured.

you had no idea where kaeya had gone. you had no idea where he was, especially since you had run so far from the monsters. he was the only one who knew you were out in the wilderness.

kaeya wasn’t nervous when he couldn’t find you. he knew you were a skilled adventurer. it wasn’t until he found the blood stained grass that he got a pit in his stomach. he was running around the area screaming your name, desperately trying to find you.

and when he did, he was terrified. you were sitting against a wall, covered in blood. he didn’t even know if you were still alive. he panicked and grabbed onto your shoulders, shaking you. you were still passed out, but kaeya knew you were still alive from the small groan you let out when he grabbed you.

he carried you all the way back to mondstadt, pure adrenaline pumping through his veins. you couldn’t die, not like this.

you finally awoke a few hours later, and pain instantly flooded into every part of your body. your pressed a hand against your forehead, trying to soothe the horrible ache in your head.

“(y/n)?”

you turn your head to see kaeya walking to the bed you were laid in. “kaeya,” you breathe, happy to see a familiar face. “what happened?”

“you were attacked
i think. and you were hurt very badly, but i’m sure you can feel that.” he sighs, chuckling. “but barbara patched you all up.”

you try to laugh, but the pain in your ribs stops you. “ah
 it hurts.”

“i know,” he whispers. he strokes your arm. “just go back to sleep, okay? i’ll be here when you wake up.”

If It Wouldn't Be Too Much Of A Bother, Can We Have Some Angst With Zhongli, Childe, Kaeya, And Diluc

childe

childe looked in horror at the deep gash on your body, his entire body trembling. he had only looked away for a moment. why did they attack you? why did they want to hurt you?

he defeats the remaining treasure hoarders in a few slashes before helping you stand up, warm blood instantly staining his grey clothing. “come on, (y/n), you can do it.”

“childe,” you say softly, barely able to stand on your own two legs. “childe, it hurts,” you sob. you try to keep your eyes on the ground ahead of you — looking at your wound would only intensify your panic.

“i know it does, i’m sorry,” his voice trembles as he stops to pick you up, slinging you over your shoulder. you let him. you were so dizzy.

you lose consciousness at some point. you woke up later, bandaged up. but the pain was still strong, and you groan in pain moments after opening your eyes. you squeeze them shut again, trying to steady your breathing.

when you open them, childe is by your side, gently grabbing onto your hand. “hey, hey, breathe
” he says softly.

the softness of his voice and gaze was something you had never seen. but it made you feel safe.

“i’ll go get some more medicine for you
it should help with the pain. just rest up,” he tells you. he stands up to leave when you grab onto his arm.

“when you get back
 please don’t leave my side
” you whisper.

he gives you a small smile, nodding. “i won’t. i promise i won’t.”

If It Wouldn't Be Too Much Of A Bother, Can We Have Some Angst With Zhongli, Childe, Kaeya, And Diluc

diluc

usually, diluc did his business with the abyss order by himself. he only let you tag along if he was 100% sure you’d both be safe, but for somehow, you had convinced him to let you join him on what he thought would be a more dangerous mission.

and as he sprinted out of the abyss stronghold he had been informed of with you in his arms, he regretted being so easily persuaded by you.

it only took a second for you to get hurt. he didn’t know how badly you were injured, but he could feel his sleeves getting soaked in blood. all he knew is that he had to get you out of there. the mission didn’t matter anymore.

once he felt like he had gotten a safe distance away, he set you down. you had gone completely limp, and diluc felt panic rising in his chest. you had gotten wounded on your back. luckily, the bleeding had slowed, but it still needed attention.

“god,” diluc mumbles, picking you up again. “i’m so sorry. i’m so sorry, my angel.” he holds onto you tightly and starts walking, praying that you’d make it back alive. all he could do was look after the bleeding and try to keep your wound clean.

for the first time in a long time, diluc is scared. he’s absolutely terrified. a tear escapes his eye. he nearly jumps out of his skin when he feels your thumb wipe it away.

“(y/n)?” he can barely keep a good grip on you, but he keeps walking forward.

you give him a weak smile. “don’t cry, diluc. it’s just a little scratch, right?” you grunt in pain.

“don’t move. i’m gonna get you back to mondstadt as fast as i can.”
