You shifted through your paperwork, your head already pounding. You’d forgotten to take some painkillers earlier when you had felt the throb start gradually on one temple—now you were regretting it immensely, since your entire head felt like a heartbeat in and of itself.

A hand came out in front of your face and you followed the arm up until you were looking at your assistant, Jeon Jungkook. You blinked owlishly at him, wondering when the hell he’d even slipped into your office.

“I saw you pinching your nose through the window. You only do that when you have a headache,” he said in lieu of a greeting, looking pointedly down at his palm. You looked down as well and saw two painkillers in his grip, held out to you as an offering.

You swallowed hard at his words but did as you were told, closing the classroom door and going over to his desk. He was looking through the stack of students’ sketchbooks on his desk, presumably for your own. He pulled one of of the stack and laid it in the middle of his desk, and you froze. 

You could feel all color draining from your face once you noticed which sketchbook he had pulled out of the pile. There was a Hello Kitty sticker stuck to the top right corner of it, indicating it was your sketchbook.

Summer was quickly coming to an end, and the new season was being ushered in by brief rain showers. You’d been caught in one the other day, your shoes ending up utterly soaked and the papers you were meant to be grading were partially damaged too. Although the papers were salvageable, your new velvet heels – not so much. Luckily, you’d decided to stay into today, completing reviewing the last couple of essays with an occasional episode of the Office sneaked into your breaks. You’d finished earlier than you’d expected, so you’d taken the liberty to meander out to your balcony, a silk robe wrapped around your figure and a glass of red wine in your hand, to watch as the day ended and night began.

Going on a camping trip after a breakup, having to witness all of your friends cuddle with their significant others had made you want to stay home, to say the least. You just missed that feeling of someone taking care of you, someone who’s always there no matter what. And once you genuinely let that train of thought sink in, you realized that someone has been taking care of you during this trip all along.

You sit down on your sleeping bag, shivering as you take off your coat to reveal only a t-shirt under it. It had gotten really cold after dinner once the sun had set and with goosebumps all over your arms and chest, you start shaking from the cold almost immediately, rummaging through your suitcase to find a sweater. Once you found the thick hoodie on the floor next to you, you simply slide it on, getting up although you have to cower because the tent isn’t high enough for you to stand and slide your coat back on.  

When you step outside you can see the chaos you’ve been hearing for the past couple of days. Being on a trip with your friends and all of the ones with girlfriends, obviously brought them or a friend along brought the person count up to a total of fourteen people. 

Camping, cooking and even deciding on who is able to use the bathroom turned out to be more difficult than expected and although you love all of them if someone was going to fuck up doing the dishes one more time, leaving them greasy, you’d have to throw a massive fit. 

You hadn’t been feeling too well lately and after a rather massive break up with your ex-boyfriend you thought about staying home altogether, but the breakup had happened a long time ago now and it was time for you to suck it up and get over the feeling of being hurt around other happy couples. At the end of the day, it wasn’t their fault you got cheated on. The only thing you’d been worried about was seeing all these couples being cute and soft around you, so when Jungkook had announced to you that he wasn’t going to bring anyone else, claiming you were the friend he was going to bring along, had made you feel excited to come.
